Tonight I'll be trying some music. So far I'm really impressed and I know it will get better with further tuning and measurements.
until the SB-2000's come out. Oh wait, to SVS, they don't exsist.

I have not listened to Knowing in here yet. But I do know about that crash scene.

Just gave my sub a little workout I really enjoyed this movie as it has some good LFE throughout even steaming via Netflix in HD w/ DD+ audio.

Yes I'm wondering the same thing about sealed subs and how well they do with movies. My SB13 Ultra arrives tomorrow. My expectations are high for all around performance. I guess if for any reason I'm not happy I can always return it and go ported but I dont think I'll be doing that considering all the great reviews about it.

I went from the PB13 Ultra to the SB13 Ultra.

For me ported subs don't sound as good due to a lack of speaker control ("looser" bass) and because the air movement through the port(s) ("woofing" sounds) are audible.

I prefer and have always owned sealed woofers due to hearing the effects mentioned above which I find distracting. To my ears the SB sounds far better suited to movies, tighter, lower and more chest-thumping than the PB.

Yep and thats exactly why I went sealed. Cleaner bass. I care more about quality of decibels than quantity of decibels.

agree. I have Audyssey XT and to me it takes away from what you say in bold when its on. So I have it off.

Sub arrived this morning. Setup calibrated and sat down with it for a couple hours. Love the sound. First impression was VERY SMOOTH. Very detailed and yes all the reviews are true as there was many sounds I was missing out on with my old sub (Klipsch RW12D). Hands down no comparison. Although for what I paid for the RW12D (279.99) that sub did its job and I still think its the best bang for your buck in that price range. Only movie I checked out so far was WOTW pod scene and it hard. Its amazing for such a small sub that it moves that much air. Very impressed!

Doesn't the PB13 Ultra go much deeper than the SB13 Ultra?
