Just placed my order for a PC12-NSD. Will be replacing my current BIC F12 and joining a setup consisting of Polk Monitor 60 Series II, Polk CS1, and old Yamaha surrounds. Can't wait to experience what this level of sub has to offer. I don't believe I will be disappointed.

I've finally been able to break my two SVS subs in, and I have to say that the PC Ultra is all that people said it was, but the PC12 Plus is rather underwhelming. I tried both individually before integrating them together and I felt the Plus lacked the desired punch for my room. I'll need to experiment further, but if the results don't improve then I'll be sending it back and pairing the Ultra with a PSA XS30se.

The PSA is sealed. I wouldn't mix that with ported.

Yea why not get another Ultra? I wouldn't mix ported and sealed either. I also would have two matching subs.

I'm in a situation where I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. The missus doesn't want another cube sub, but she's also not fond of the imposing nature of the Ultra either. I'm at the point to where I'll be better off sticking with what I have. My discussion with my better half over replacing the 12 didn't go as well as I'd hoped. Lol! She said the only thing she wouldn't mind would be an in wall sub behind our seating, so maybe that's an option. I need to win the lotto so I can build a dedicated theater room.

To tag and cc, good point about not mixing sealed and ported. I didn't think about that, but it's a moot point now.

Just tell her that another Ultra would match in height the other one. The Ultra is less then 8" taller. But thats just me

Update on the 12 Plus. All is well and good now after I played with the positioning and settings. It didn't help that my wonderful "best friend" decided to turn the volume down on my 12 while I was positioning and adjusting the Ultra. His idea of a joke that he let me in on this morning when I told him that I was thinking of returning it. Lol! I've watched three movies (Edge of Tomorrow, NFS and Tron Legacy) since my last post and the results were better than I hoped for. Sorry for jumping the gun and attempting to throw in the proverbial towel as fast as I did.

A big thanks to everyone who offered their input.

No doubt!! I have to give him credit though because we always mess with one another, but I told him that messing with my subs is like playing with my emotions. Lol!

Ohhh. That is funny. Glad ya got it sorted. The start to Edge of Tomorrow (opening credits) is like a tour de force of bass.

Phew!!! Glad you gotten that all worked out. When I read you didn't like the 12plus, all I could think of was "BassHead".... lol

Why isn't in the same league? What can the PC-12 do that the F-12 isn't capable of?

Are you serious?

If so:

PC-12 is rated 400watts RMS, while the bic is rated 150watts RMS
PC-12 can be tuned down to 20hz, while the bic Frequency response is 25hz.

That 5hz difference is basically where you begin to get into quality subs. Below 30hz, and around 25hz is fantastic for music, but with movies and feeling the LFE from your subs, you would want to get to 20hz and below.

Well I guess it depends on one's individual needs. For example, if you're a music buff, the supposed advantages of the PC-12 would be wasted. Or if you have small room where extra watts are not really needed for music or movies to fill the room with sound at reason db levels.

As for movies vs music, you do realize that an infinitesimal amount of movies are mixed with information below 25 hz.

Also, two F12's could be a better purchase than one PC12, as two of them are still cheaper than one PC12 and you get the advantage that comes with better bass from multiple subs.
