Question What do you do with your damaged SteelBooks™?

I have several damaged SteelBooks lying around. They are typically from online retailers or eBay sellers who do not issue exchanges for damaged goods or from mysterious dents that have appeared out of nowhere. What do you do with them? If you sell them, how do you price them and who wants to buy damaged goods?

You can sell them if you prefer. Depending on how extensive the damage is, a ding here or there usually will still sell, by taking $10 off your original asking price. I personally either sell/trade, or keep it & place them with my regular blurays (not with my other steels) or will use them for display as long as the damage is not seen from the front.

I honestly don't care. I have some weird dent on Hancock, and even if it bothered me at first, I couldn't care less now.
Of course I prefer to have mint Steels but you can't have everything now can you?

I would just keep them and if I didn't want them I'd sell them for cheaper than the normal price and state the damage or else I'd just trade it. Simple as.

One of mine has a bump in the back It's still sealed, but I think some of the glue didn't quiet stick to the inside of the case. So when you rub your finger along the back of the case you will notice it. Kind of sounds like a nestea lid when you push on it.

I was thinking of trying to reglue it...but I dont think theres a way to get in there without making it worse

It'll stay sealed for now until I figure out what to do with it

Yeah I would just leave it as is, dont want to damage it any further. Or you could sell it and use the funds towards a better copy of the same.

my FS Ironman is pretty beaten around the corners as well (looks almost like the paint didn't quiet cover it all) but I opened and have watched it twice since

I may keep it, but we'll see...

Great things to do with a damaged steelbook case:

use it to hold bait when you go fishing

use it as a condom case

store a Pop-Tart in it and take it with you when you go out

hide your porno DVDs in it and display it openly on the shelf

(if you smoke) use it as a fancy cigarette case

carry your supermarket coupons in it when you go shopping

keep it in your car to store your registration in it

put photos on the two inside panels and use it as a photo frame

make ear rings out of them

use them to serve sushi to your guests on movie night

ebay em for whatever they go for I guess, not much you can do. And as an FYI, if you buy from ebay and it arrives and damaged, just mail it back with tracking, paypal will give you a full refund regardless of sellers policy

hmmm, I have 2 Extremely banged up ones I got from Amazon.fr. They issued me a full refund and asked me to keep them.
They are sooo badly damaged, I think I might just take out the discs and sell them and throw the steelbooks away.

Don't throw them away. Are they truly that damaged?

I never noticed this before, but on the back of all the Xbox 360 SteelBooks they have a Steel Recycle logo... Any reason why they don't print this on Blu-ray's?...
