Default Pikmin 4 "very close to completion"

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...-to-completion

OMG

Quote:
Pikmin 4 is in development and "very close to completion", Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has exclusively confirmed to Eurogamer.
Quote:
Miyamoto did not specify the platform that Pikmin 4 would launch on, but word that the game is close to completion suggests a launch is possible on the company's current hardware.

A lot of rumors are still saying WiiU will be the primary platform through 2016. I could see this being a dual release.

Hope not, while I love the Wii U I'm ready to move on. Zelda, Fire Emblem, Pokken Tournament and Yoshi is all I need from the Wii U.

Ready to move onto whatever the NX is. Though I see the NX having a Fall 2016 release or early 2017.

I definitely hope that it's either dual release or Wii U only. Would double-dip in the former case.

Because I'm not sure if the NX will have some sort of gamepad functionality in some way. And Pikmin 3 controls perfectly with Wiimote + Wii U gamepad. I don't want to go back to worse controls.

Ready to move on from a system that hasn't even been on the market for 3 years yet? I for one hope to see Nintendo support the system to the industry standard 5 years minimum, so a NX release of Fall 2017 would be fine by me.

I'm only ready to move on from it as it seems that Nintendo is ready as well. Chances are that Zelda and maybe Pikmin 4 will be the last major Nintendo games for the console. No reason to keep the Wii U alive if Nintendo is done with it.

Let's face it, we buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games. Once they are done with support so am I.

Well, Nintendo has always released their successor systems 5 years after the one before it, exceptions are Wii -> Wii U and NES -> SNES, which were 6 years. It also always took them at least 1 year from official announcement to release. So I'm expecting a 2017 release.
