I don't know, since the DVD era they've always been willing to license this out.

Having pre-ordered the lovely BB steel for the first two films, glad to be able to finish the trilogy in 4K .

The only thing I would hope for is Universal would find the delete scenes used in the TV cut and they can just add them even if it's in 1080p.
Agreed... give me 4K transfers of the three main cuts, but I'll settle for an HD version of the TV cut. I feel like the biggest additions from that version are Ash's attack against Arthur ("I don't like being... SUCKER PUNCHED!") and the extended windmill/mirror smash scene (which still works better than even the director's cut). I always thought it was funny how the Anchor Bay DVD release from 20ish years ago (holy crap) used a VHS workprint for those scenes as "deleted scenes", despite the fact that the TV cut not only had these two scenes in much better quality, but also with a completed sound mix.

Hell, TV cuts in HD seem rare to begin with... I was shocked when the TV cut of Trading Places was in HD on The Paramount Network last year (at least the alternate footage of the infamous party scene.) Of course, if we get an HD version of the TV cut of AoD, then everyone's gonna ask for the same for Halloween II, lol.

Halloween II and Psycho II on UHD would both be instant buys!

Huge Evil Dead 1+2 fan, but never cared for AoD. I'll get it for completist's sake, but more so because I would like other Shout titles to appear on UHD.

While 4k players are not new, and have even been in the Xbox One S/X... I can't help but wonder if (on top of increase in 4k TV sales) the fact that BOTH major, and massively hyped, in demand new consoles coming out this November is in any way, even some miniscule degree, an influence on the slew of catalogue 4K disc titles we've seen announced for early December and onward.

I've only seen this movie about 150+ times.
I only purchased it on VHS, laserdisc, three DVD versions (?), and two blu-ray releases.
I wonder if it will include some of the alternate one-liners from the USA TV channel version back in the late-90s. Some fun stuff on there.

I guess I can buy it again. Wonder how it'll look with all the shoddy opticals lol

All these classic 80’s early 90’s movies are making me feel 30 years younger.

This is so freakin’ awesome! Bring on True Lies!!!!!

BADASS! one of my fave horror-comedies, fantasy and adventure films is FINALLY coming to UHD 4K and new 4K restoration should make it shine like the other 2 ED movies on UHD 4K did.

Saw this in theaters when i was 10 and been one of my faves, time for an upgrade.
