Didn’t Eureka say two years license with the Fuller titles? But Fuller at Fox lasted about a year and same for the two individual titles from that set before they ran out. The caveat with Nightmare Alley and The Gunfighter as some may already have the Criterion releases so don’t see a reason to get the new releases, so might not sell as quickly as Fuller. So, I would say buy the releases by early 2024 by the latest, but you might want to buy them by early 2023 just to be safe.

I would have got them at their present amazon prices, but they might turn-up in one of Hmv's 2 for 15 at some point. So probably will gamble on that.

I preordered Nightmare Alley in July 2020 at Amazon UK. While it kept getting postponed, I left my preorder in place, as I kept hoping that one day, they would release it.

So finally they did. A couple of weeks ago, I received an email from Amazon indicating they had an expected delivery date for me: 24 - 25 January. Now those dates have passed, and I still haven’t received anything. So I check my order (through the link in the email which I received a couple of days ago), and the order of Nightmare Alley has simply disappeared. Without providing me with any explanation, and without even notifying me, Amazon cancelled my order!

When I check the page of Nightmare Alley, it mentions that it is “currently out of stock”. According to this website, however, it should be in stock. To me, that means that this is one of those titles which Amazon UK refuses to ship outside of the UK, apparently because it’s located in the wrong warehouse. After all this wait, this seems like the punchline of a very bad joke.

Just curious, as it seems that you are in Australia: was the address the order was shipped to also in Australia? Because if they can ship it to Australia, but refuse to ship it to Belgium, that would just be beyond ridiculous…

It is definitely in stock at amazon uk for uk customers, currently £14.99. Have similar issue with amazon.com can't order any warner archive titles when use uk address, and they are quite cheap there at the moment.
Haven't bought it yet because there is a good chance of it turning up in a hmv sale in the future.

I think they were joking about Disney not wanting to put out a UHD of this film because the movie is 'old'.

That being said, Universal is much more willing to dig into their back catalogue and put older films out on UHD than Disney. Dracula is from 1931 and it got a UHD release (both versions too, with HDR!)

True, but I imagine there's a larger market for one of Universal's monster classics than noirs like Nightmare Alley.

Well, since Amazon UK still won't ship this to Germany I'll cave and will get it somewhere else for a little over 30 Euros. I can't rely on Amazon UK shipping this Blu-ray to Germany at some point and I don't wanna wait till all alternative sources are depleted.

I guess I don't get why they won't ship this Blu-ray to Germany though. And persistently so. Sometimes that happens with other movies too but only for a short period of time. But in this case it's been impossible for me to order this movie ever since it was released.

It all depends on where the stock is kept, there are releases from post-Brexit that Amazon still won't ship to Ireland because the warehouse they are in is for UK and not Europe.

Hmm, fair enough. Got mine from Amazon.es . The cover was all wavy but eh, I guess shit happens. Just glad I finally own it!
