https://www.amazon.com/myh/households https://families.google.com/families https://www.apple.com/family-sharing/ if you have a uv tagged title and you link the service on which you redeemed it (example vudu), once it ports to another uv enabled service (fandangonow) it should stay in your library even when uv is gone. its just not going to get an ma tag if its not a ma title. once a studio joins ma, their catalog should become ma tag enabled. we dont know they wont redeem after uv ends. but there is a possibility the older uv codes already past their expiration dates could stop working, there is also a possibility they will continue to work in MA or on specific providers sites. given the codes age, that has always been a possibility. since the launching of MA we've seen most studios leaning less towards grandfathering (extending) expired codes.

I agree as well. Physical releases dont mysteriously disappear. I even buy Netflix shows on Blu-ray cause I don't completely trust that my fav shows will be available on streaming FOREVER.

If you ever disconnect FN from UV, all those UV titles disappear from your collection. I hope FN might change this (if even for the shut-down moment), but if you've ever contacted their customer support, you know they are not likely to lift a finger. |

I forewarned of this in past posts on discussions of streaming vs. physical media. Only weeks ago did I get emails about Sony's streaming service shutting down, now Ultraviolet. Seems they aren't expecting things to pickup anytime soon and just calling it since the introduction of Movies Anywhere by Disney, a superior service in my opinion, alongside Vudu.
No worries yet though, even if I lose all my digital copies I don't care, I have the physical media to all my movies (with the exception of about 4 digital movies I got free for signing up for stuff, but I don't care about them specifically). Movies Anywhere and Vudu are all that's really needed to support any digital movie. (Vudu for the studios that are too stubborn to support Movies Anywhere) |

Actually it was sonypicturesstore that closed, not the streaming service. That streaming service is still working today (2/1), still has a UV redeem link, still loads and plays the (Sony) UV collection. Granted you have to have a Sony device or TV with that app (called Ultra), but it was not dismantled, just that internet sales site.

Glad to see Vudu is assuring people in the U.S. Might lose some random thing or have lesser quality on a handful of things but it's in these sites' best interest to make you feel like your collection is safe. Even most Joe Schmoes wouldn't support digital purchases if they thought they'd lose them down the line I bet, and they know that, so they'll do everything they can before allowing people to lose stuff. It could happen of course... I've seen it happen with my other hobby, PC gaming... but they'll try really hard to prevent it.
My main fear with digital has always been content modification, not content loss. Anyway... good luck to all those affected outside the U.S., hopefully it works out as well. |

Again as per DECE and Vudu: Keep your UV library connected to Vudu or a UV compatible etailer and you will keep a majority, if not all, of your digital library. |

What would really be helpful at this stage is a tool to extract a list of all UV licenses owned, with list to include Title, Quality (SD/HD/UHD), Date obtained, Redeemed/Purchased from provider, Studio, also email of acct that it came from.
