I will never forget the scene where they take the mother for a walk. I watched this many years ago when i was younger and it's stayed with me.

Unless it's just a port of the Alliance disc in which case it will be 1080i and in wrong aspect ratio.

The cover says Miramax, and the Canadian disc is also Miramax. One could assume the same transfer, but Peccadillo did say they had a US distributor talking to them about licensing their transfer.

About damn time! I've wanted this masterpiece to come out on Blu-ray for years now. Nice Christmas present on Peter Jackson's part. The cover art - assuming it is final - is interesting. Anyone know if there will be special features? I sure hope so...

I am so, so glad it is the uncut version! Now, I want the original aspect ratio and some bonus features too!

Lionsgate is now Miramax and vice versa.

Heavenly Creatures. Good thing I didn't jump on the Canadian release since it's been out for a while.

A quick look over at dvdcompare.net shows several different runtimes over several regions ranging from 99 to 109 minutes. I have never seen the theatrical cut, but 10 minutes does not seem like to much difference IMO.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies; I grew up watching it and loving it. I missed out on getting the Blu-ray, and really wish it would get a new release. I'd love to see the Criterion Collection give it the proper treatment it deserves. I'm not really willing to spent upward of $50 on the Miramax Blu-ray, especially given that it has no bonus features, so I'm clinging to the DVD edition for the foreseeable future (unless I happen to come across a reasonably-priced Blu-ray).
