Well I'll be damned. I didn't know there were personal pages around here... I guess I'll throw one up, though I seriously doubt I'll get asked any questions. lol
A bit about me... well not much to say, I started casually browsing this place in 2010, started an account in 2012, but didn't really start using the forums until last summer. Still, while I'm addicted to this place, I haven't really really gotten the lay of the land (obviously. I'm just finding out about personal threads now) it's just kinda overwhelming. There's just soo many sections and members that are flooded with posts every minute, that I get lost too fast. So I just subscribe to a handful of threads and refresh those every few minutes...lol I'm a movie nut, (obviously. We all are) have been since I was a kid, and would decide to forgo playing sports outside with my friends and stay in watching shitty old horror flicks. Love all kinds of film, but horror holds a special place. Love comics, stopped collecting years ago though. There came a point where I was putting myself deep into debt and certain hobby's had to go. So I had to choose. I could stick with the DVDs (at that point) but I'd give up the comics, figures, games and music. Still get most of the games I really want, but I'm starting to grow out of them I think... I go through phases with video games. Huge music buff. I like too many genres though. I like pretty much every type of music so it's impossible to keep up with collecting. As ashamed as I am for admitting this, but I download most of my music now. I hate that I do it, but it's just too much to keep up with. I'm rambling now, and I doubt anybody's reading anymore anyway. But if there are any questions at all ask away. |

I go through phases with gaming as well. Nothing much of the new generation grabs me, new Batman game seemed appealing, but response wise it seems underwhelming. I guess next thing is Mad Max and Metal Gear Solid V, but after Ground Zero's I'm a bit on the fence on the latter. And indie gaming always seems interesting but I can never get the proper computer to play them.
Question, what's the funniest shitty horror film you've ever seen? I tend to find funny crappy horror films are a dime a dozen (Troll 2 being the obvious beacon), most end up being dull. ![]() |

Yeah... not much is grabbing me right now, but boy oh boy am I excited for Mad Max and Battlefront!
![]() You're right to not get your hopes up over Arkham Knight. While I had a blast with it, it's definitely inferior. I think it's the weakest of the trilogy. As for the question, that's tough to say. I can't definitely answer the question, as I have to many favorites, and shitty is a very subjective thing. But I'll go with ones I've recently viewed again. It also depends on if you're talking about deliberately funny or not, if so I had a blast with Cabin in the Woods and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. Also Cooties looks like it'll be fun. Otherwise I'd go with Henenlotter classics like Frankenhooker or Basket Case, or even Sleepaway Camp. But yeah... it sucks, not many "shitty" horror flicks these days seem to have the charm that ones from yesteryear had. Maybe we're just getting to old... *sidenote - I've never gotten the enjoyment out of Troll 2 that most seem to get... In fact it actually kind of made me mad with how terrible it was... ![]() |

I don't play video games much at all anymore, and it kind of makes me sad.
![]() A few years ago, I was a die hard gamer. Even remember posting on a gaming forum a while back how I could never imagine losing interest in video games. Ha! I am really excited for both Uncharted 4 and FF15. Also, hopefully KH3 comes out within the decade. Like pretty much every type of music huh? Any Kpop? ![]() |

Oh trust me. A few years ago I was soo addicted to Left 4 Dead and Borderlands I would actually constantly skip work just to sit up all night playing. The idea of interest in games waning was crazy talk. But here we are... I haven't touched any of my systems in weeks, despite having a huge pile of games I have to get through. It is kinda sad.
I forgot all about Uncharted 4. Very excited for that too! I actually don't mind Kpop/Jpop... But unfortunately no, I'm not really familiar with any actual groups or anything, but that's just because I haven't been really exposed to any of it. It's not a part of any circles I'm around. ![]() I certainly don't hate it, the way I see people trash it. haha |

Ha ha, yeah I got addicted to Kpop years ago, and now it's almost all I listen to. Like a lot of things, I'm sure a big reason for people trashing it is due to it's fan base. I've learned to no longer read any comments on anything Kpop related. It can be a really mean and hateful fan base.
Anyways, I'm actually still waiting on some sort of price drop on PS4. Hopefully something maybe on black friday, so I can play both Uncharted 4 and Black Ops 3. COD is the only game I've even played in the last couple years. Geez, never thought I would become that person. I used to bag on people who only played COD and called themselves gamers. ![]() |

Man I love all kinds of music as well. I mostly listen to metal, but I really appreciate GOOD music, with talented musicians. Maybe it's because I'm a musician as well (drummer).
Are there any types of music you don't like? I really can't stand modern country. I love metal and 80s new wave. |

I'm mostly a Metal and Rap fan myself. Jazz and Metal are really the types of music that showcase actual talent, from drummers at least.
But no, I can't really say there's any type of music that I despise. Not off the top of my head anyway. Sure there's quite a bit of shitty acts in modern country, but there's still some good ones. I more hate what genres like Country, Pop, Hip-Hop, Punk etc have become. The industries have twisted them into this money-making machine and as a result quality suffers. But really, there are still great performers going in every genre. |

The "personal pages" section's only been around a few months, mostly because a few users (including me) formed the first entries in the General Chat area. The mods then created this section within a week or two.
Going with the topic of music, the only kinds I really don't like are metal and most rap. The former is just all noise and screaming, while the latter rarely speaks of anything other than wanton violence and treating women as objects. I do like some of Will Smith's music, and one or two songs by DMX...but that's pretty much it. Overall, I'm more into soft rock, country, and film scores...though I did become interested in the rock band Skillet maybe 5 years ago. |

While that's your opinion, and I'm not going to argue with you or dissuade you from what you dislike. That's a vast misconception of Rap. Sure a lot of the crap that's on the radio is as you describe, but that's only a portion and a blight on the genre.
A lot of the music actually speaks of the opposite and can even be considered poetry. They deal with such topics as politics, religion, going to work, paying your bills, everyday struggles, etc. It's not all "I stack dollars and got a truck of *****es, and if a mutha ****a disrespect me I cap his ass" BTW - Thanks for in effect causing this section. It's great. |

DMX usually has a positive prayer song on his albums, but even he is one of the perpetrators of the negative messages in rap. A big problem with a lot of them though, is that they're trying to convey what it's like living in the ghetto. They just speak of their own experiences or those that happen around them. But in speaking of them, a lot of times people mistakenly think they're glorifying this life, rather than trying to bring light to it.
Here's a couple random examples of how Rap isn't all that crap you may think it is, it can be really inspiring: |

Ooo that's a tough one. There are soo many great ones, it's hard to name a favorite. Besides the obvious choices like Aretha, James Brown, Al Green, Nina Simone, I'd probably say my favorite would be Marvin Gaye.
Amy was pretty ****in fantastic though. She will be sorely missed. Honestly, I've never been too familiar with Kool Keith. The bit of stuff I did hear from him over the years was pretty rad though. |

Personally, I love vocal groups like the Ronettes, the Supremes, the Four Tops and the Platters. I really need to listen to more of the old-school stuff. I've got some Sarah Vaughan records I picked up from a thrift store that I still need to get around to spinning. Quote:
Can't say that I'm a super fan, but I like Dr. Octagon and Dr. Dooom. The group he was originally in, The Ultramagnetic MC's, was fun too, though much more conventional. I appreciate hip hop, but don't listen to it often since I usually am writing while play music and the lyric-centric nature of rap makes it hard to focus. |

Honestly, I know it's more commercial, as such it's probably most peoples choice, but I dig Back to Black more. Both great albums, but B2B just has more songs that connect with me. I love "F#ck me pumps" though. It's really too bad we never got that Bond theme out of her... Can't wait to see her doc. It's soo true. A lot of rap, you really need to listen to. That can be a problem for a lot of people. My girl for example, I try to show her several songs or groups that she might like or connect with, but because of her ADD, she doesn't make it passed 30 seconds most time, if there's not an amazing booty-shaking beat. She could care less about the lyrics most times. I don't get it, to me that's the most important thing... Speaking of Rap and Amy, you ever hear the Ghostface Killah song from More Fish that uses Winehouse? |

Was there talk of Winehouse doing a Bond theme or is she just the type of singer they'd likely hire? Quote:
I heard the version included as a bonus track on the American release of BiB, which I think is slightly different. Ghostface does his thing well, though I tend to think rap and singing clash with each other when in the same song. Feel the same way about punk/metal bands that mix clean and harsh vocals. (Also, hate to admit it, but still haven't been able to get into Wu-Tang.) |

lol I'm more about:
Don't be mad at me, Cuz you're pushing thirty, And your old tricks no longer work. It's so true though, Frank is great, but she was still growing as an artist, that's why it sucks soo bad we never got to see what more she could've become. I'd love to watch the doc now, but it's not playing in any theaters around me. Which is strange with how big Toronto is about cinema... So alas, I have to wait til the fall to get the blu-ray or DVD... Yeah, back when they were making Quantum of Solace, Amy was apparently set to do the theme for it. Some of it was recorded, and I think some unfinished demos exist for it. But the collaboration fell apart for various reasons, most reportedly because she was going through a relapse at the time. Sucks, I was really excited for it at the time, I thought she was perfect for it, and coming fresh off the heels of the fantastic Casino Royale, I thought we were gonna get another great movie, led by a song that was more like the classic Bond themes of old. I didn't realize how bad her problems were back then though... No Wu-Tang..?!!! That's it. We can't be friends. lol I can't really agree on that last statement though, sure stuff like Screamo (that mixes melodic verses with harsh choruses) can be jarring and formulaic. But when you get a band that transitions these things nicely, like say Deftones (my favorite band btw lol) you can get some really moving tunes. All music invokes emotion, and that type appeals to my schizophrenic nature. haha The display of the two sided coin, the shifting emotion; One minute you can be calm and serene, but when talking of things you're passionate about, the next you can be a raging ball of fury. |

You know, I've never listened to Deftones. Often hear they're one of the best and most creative to have been associated with nu-metal. Should give them a try. Which album should I start with? |
