Has everyone received their corrected discs yet?

I haven't had anything... so wondering if I should send another mail.

Nobody has received both corrected discs. A tiny number of people got the first mailing with the Corrected D3 and still incorrect D5.

BBC and the DVD restoration team have begged people not to send requests repeatedly

OK - thanks, I'll hold on and wait until others start to receive theirs

The incorrect corrected discs started to arrive 2 weeks ago and they soon stopped that once the error was known.
Anyone who has never received corrected discs of any kind does not need to send further emails beyond the one you initially sent. I'd say the completely correct discs will start dropping on mats in 2-3 weeks max

Just curious, but if anyone here has a region-free player, can you confirm if the Season 12 BD is Region A compatible?

I am region free (my Seiki player is), but my Blu-ray drive I've set to Region A, so if I decided to rip the discs to encode a rip in 1080p at 25 fps (from the 50i source), I'd get around the frame rate conversion. Plus, I like the packaging.

Depending on the region coding, I'm debating which Season 19 set to pre-order. I'm leaning towards the UK one due to the packaging, but if it were Region B locked, I'd probably go Region A so I can view it in a pre-converted frame rate.

Definitely Region A/B/C.

It doesn't sound like you have the S12 set yet. Do you have a place to buy the UK or AUS set in mind?

Nope. I’m just hoping they reprint it. Otherwise, I’ve gotta deal with scalpers on eBay...

The ebay prices are crazy at the moment, I have been checking my local second hand store in the vain hope a copy appears in there but no luck yet.

Yeah. So far, the cheapest one I could find (that ships internationally) was at £56, and that has 6 days left...

That'll treble at least in that amount of time

Unless you have your heart set on the UK set, the AUS set is available but in short supply UNLESS you have a friend in Australia who could pick it up and ship it. Seems to be identical except the UK vs AUS ratings logo on the Jcard.

Going rate for the AUS set on Ebay seems to be around $90USD shipped

I’d prefer a UK set, but regardless, $90 is too much for me. I’d prefer it were cheaper (wouldn’t we all), but at this point, who knows if they’ll reprint the UK set or not?...

The Australian set is just the UK limited edition with a slightly different O ring (ie the bit you file away or put in the recycling)

Okay, now I'll just pick up the AU set... unless they don't do international disc replacement.

So have they stopped sending replacement discs worldwide because of a problem with one of the replacements? Im in the US, and i received a reply email that i sent them my address for replacements about 2 weeks ago.
Watching the discs on my oppo 203 i can see they are 60i, and i can switch back and forth to progressive to see if there is a difference in the frame rate. So far not much of a difference on the NTSC side of the planet here, but they still all look great. Are these out of print already or just the UK ones??

The US sets are easily available on Amazon. In stock and in print.

They sent one small batch of replacements in the UK in mid August, heard about the issues and pulled them all. No reason to send other batches if it's still messed up.

I would think another week or so and something would be heard about the second wave of replacements

Odd little timing -- found the UK set on AmazonUk "In stock on September 22, 2018." and could even order it, but it's back to OOS now. I wonder if they found 2 or 3 boxsets on the shelf or got a return from someone who hated the packaging or didn't want to mess with the replacement

Do you have a realistic price point you'd jump on for either the UK or AUS set?
JBHiFi dropped their in-store (or in-AUS price again) to $56AUD -- the problem is getting someone to buy and ship it to you. I wasn't able to convince someone to buy and ship me a second copy during the Fathers Day Sale though JB shocked me when they allowed me to Price Match the set I ordered and shipped a few days before the sale.

I'm only aware of one nonEbay AUS site that seems to be selling right now, but the shipping for a single title is outrageous.

Yeah. We don’t have the cool packaging like the UK/AU set. Here’s what I mean:

The UK set is 50hz.
The US set has one or two bonus features missing. The excellent Dr Who Times is not included but it's not really relevant outside the UK.

UK replacements are in the works for discs 2 and 5. My view is that once those are completed the set will become available again maybe even with the special packaging- only time will tell
