With the upcoming UV shut down, let's share the memories of our first UV movie!
Mine was Resident Evil: after life, obtained on Jan 2, 2011 it was from blu-ray steelbook purchased at Walmart, the code is on a sticker outside the plastic wrap. It only redeemed as SD on VUDU. |

I didn't think I could remember but then it all came back to me. I would occasionally redeem codes in iTunes with no real intentions of ever watching them. Green Lantern came out and came with this new kind of code that could be redeemed at a place called Vudu which upset people who then complained until WB offered to exchange their codes for iTunes codes. iTunes was the only thing I knew so I also requested and received an exchange. After that I would give my UV codes away on here until I figured out that Vudu could be a good way of sharing my movies with one of my older nephews. When I figured out the whole UV family sharing I made an account and had my sister, and two nieces sign up as well. With my movies sharing with pretty much all of my family I really started getting into digital especially with disc 2 digital (guess which movie was one of the first conversions I did, lol). I continue to buy physical but the whole reason I got into digital was for sharing.

Cloverfield & Fury. Those sat in my locker by themselves, lonely and unused, for 3 years until I got tired of Netflix a couple of years ago. I went looking for an alternative and stumbled on D2D. I pulled out a couple of hundred unused codes in my blu-rays and went to town. I now have 2,200 movies and 200 tv shows and no other streaming service.

I think it was actually Leprechaun (1993), which I used Vudu credits on. (I think it was only $4.99 and I used a $5 Vudu credit to get it for free).
When I signed up, Vudu was giving you 5 free movies to choose from at the time, just for signing up for Vudu. It was a limited selection, of course, but I ended up getting: Blair Witch 2 Carriers Independence Day Paranormal Activity Psycho (1998) EDIT: Actually I went back and looked at my UV account and sorted it by purchase date and I have a few that I added from codes that were even older. It looks like my first UV movies were actually: 21 Jump Street Drive Paranormal Activity 3 The Thing (2011) Last edited by Dustin44; 02-06-2019 at 07:19 PM. |

I got 10 free SD titles when I signed up for Vudu on February 23, 2013 (all but one later upgraded to HDX):
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (Unrated) Valentine's Day Soul Survivors (still in SD) Psycho (1998) The Producers (2005) The Perfect Storm Paranormal Activity (Theatrical) Ghost Behind Enemy Lines Away From Her The same day, I also got a signup bonus from Flixster Video for Blow (later upgraded to HDX at Vudu). I also redeemed the following from codes in HD/HDX that day: The Amazing Spider-Man (Sony) Argo (Flixster Video; later upgraded to UHD at Vudu) E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (Universal) The Artist (Sony) The Dark Knight Rises (Flixster Video) Lawrence of Arabia (Sony) Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (Paramount) Skyfall (Vudu) The Smurfs (Sony) Sparkle (2012) (Sony) Last edited by RBBrittain; 02-06-2019 at 05:32 PM. Reason: Break up paragraph for clarity |

On 1/3/2014, I had some sort of promo that gave me SD versions of:
Dangerous Liaisons [SD] A Mighty Wind [SD] Pay it Forward [SD] Never watched any of them. That same day, I also started entering codes from my Blu-ray collection, and never looked back. |

My Vudu history says my first UV titles were:
Demolition Man Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 Underworld Underworld: Evolution Underworld: Rise of the Lycans which were added on 5/5/12. However, these may have originally come from Flixster or possibly CinemaNow at an earlier date. I'm unable to confirm on the MyUV site because the search and filter functions aren't working properly. Oh wait, apparently at some point the MyUV site worked and according to my spreadsheet that I should have looked at in the first place says 1/8/12 for all of those.
