General Zavvi Steelbook Discussion Thread - Page 409 - Blu-ray Forum

Well they have strange way of honoring preorders. Mine of First Blood got dispatched but like week or two later i got email that i'll be refunded... With 0 explanation why.
So despite i placed preorder way before things went banans with Zavii i was left empty, despite item was already on the way.
So until you get your steels in hand i wouldn't trust them sh*t.

Wow I guess Zavvi really hurt you bad that you're hoping that nobody outside the UK receives their pre-orders.

Always so much doom and gloom with you.

I am happy to report that since Zavvi stopped taking international orders that I have still had 4 pre-orders shipped to me. One arrived yesterday. Another is clearing customs now and BTTF II and BTTF III were shipped yesterday with tracking and are on the way.

I've received all of my pre-orders so far. The Marvel 4K Mondo steels, The Last Emperor 4K, The Sisters Brothers 4K, and my Training Day 4K LE Steel is in the US heading towards me. Only items I have left on order are The Fifth Element 4K Collector's Steel, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin LE 4K Steels, Boyhood 4K, and Martin 4K.

Lol, Zavvi really is piece of trash. They literaly play russian roulette with these pre/orders... Thank god they only ship to UK. Worst retailer i ever came across.

You must not have much experience ordering with them. I have over 200 orders over 10+ years delivered to me me in the U.S. with zero issues.

Yeah... I'm really struggling to reconcile all the Zavvi hatred I've read here on these forums with my experience with them this past year, when I first began ordering from them.

My copy of the Second Sight limited edition of Drive did unfortunately have some damage on one corner of the case, but I have no way of knowing whether that happened during the trip over the Atlantic or if it came to them like that from Second Sight. And then I had a couple steels arrive with a loose disc, but there was no visible damage to the discs and they both play perfectly and with zero issues, so no harm no foul there...

Aside from that, all of my couple dozen orders over the last year or so have been perfect. They shipped promptly, and aside the couple issues I just mentioned, everything arrived in perfect condition. Sure, it takes awhile to get to my doorstep, but it's overseas shipping. What the hell do people expect? That they should pay an extra $20 per shipment out of their end for expedited shipping or something?

And all of my existing pre-orders have been shipped and arrived with absolutely no issues whatsoever since they stopped shipping overseas. They have been honoring their end of the bargain. At least so far.

Yeah, they're not perfect, but I've had way worse experiences with Amazon and Best Buy, to name a couple.

I've had maybe 10 orders from zavvi over the last 4 years and all were good experiences except one which involved a item that ended up being delighted after I ordered it. But they were swift on the refund so it wasn't a huge issue. Annoying yes, but nothing to go in a rage over. I'm going to miss placing orders through them for steelbooks the US doesn't get.

Anyone get their Superman II 4K steelbook? I've been told it's on order from the supplier. I ordered back in February long before it sold out so I'm slightly confused.

Likewise, does anyone know what the issue is with the Ultimate Collector editions of Batman Forever and with Batman & Robin? Release date was allegedly 10-Apr-2023 -- did they get delayed?

I haven't received mine either, and it's the same for some other users on this site who ordered these sets from Zavvi. Don't know if it's a UK WB thing or a Zavvi thing. Zavvi have yet to reach out or communicate about it.

No activity on my credit card, but my order status has changed from "Awaiting Stock Pick" to "Awaiting Shipment". Not sure what that means, but hoping mine will ship some time next week.

Does anyone know how Zavvi tends to ship a pair of steelbooks together? Have only had single ones before and trying to work out if the parcel will make it through my letterbox while I'm not there.

They almost always ship single SteelBooks, but occasionally for box sets, they will ship together.

If you order multiple copies of the same SteelBook on the same order they now ship them together in the same box.
