[MOONPHASE]

British distributor Manga Entertainment announced at MCM Birmingham Comic Con on Saturday that it will release the first 10 One Piece films on DVD. One Piece: Strong World will also be released on Blu-ray. The eighth film, One Piece: The Desert Princess and the Pirates: Adventure in Alabasta will be dubbed. All other films will be subtitle only.

FUNimation Entertainment has released only the One Piece Film Strong World (movie 10) and One Piece: The Desert Princess and the Pirates: Adventure in Alabasta films in North America.

Australia's Madman Entertainment plans to release the One Piece Film Z movie.

North American distributor Discotek Media announced on Wednesday that it will release Isao Takahata's directiorial debut film Hols, Prince of the Sun (Little Norse Prince Valiant) in December. The company will reveal details at a later date, and the cover image pictured at right is not final.

The company also revealed that it will release the 1984 Sherlock Hound television anime series in a complete collection on September 30 on DVD with the English dub and the Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Toei Animation released Hols, Prince of the Sun in 1968. Hayao Miyazaki served as concept artist and scene designer. MGM released the film in English-dubbed form, which is currently streaming on Netflix and Hulu.

Academy Award-winning director Hayao Miyazaki (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Spirited Away, Ponyo) and director Kyosuke Mikuriya (Lupin III: Part II, Ulysses 31) oversaw Sherlock Hound, which re-imagines Sir Authur Conan Doyle's brilliant detective and the rest of England as canine characters. Geneon Entertainment previously released the series on DVD in 2002, and TMS previously streamed the series in English on YouTube.

Discotek Media also noted that it will release Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie film on DVD on September 30 with both the Japanese and English audio tracks. The company will release the film on Blu-ray Disc later this year.

Discotek will also release the complete Megaman television series on DVD on September 30.

The company also revealed the following releases for August 26:

Fatal Fury OVA (which includes Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf and Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle) on DVD (includes English dub and Japanese audio track with new English subtitles)

Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture (includes new widescreen anamorphic transfer, English dub, and Japanese audio track with new English subtitles)

Cybersix complete series (includes commentary by Cathy Weseluck and Brady Hartel)

Lastly, the company revealed that it will reissue the Lupin the 3rd: Complete First Series Collection on May 27. The new edition will contain episodes 1-23 and the regular pilot film.

The American branch of Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) announced on Wednesday that it acquired the Kanojo ga Flag o Oraretara (If Her Flag Breaks) television anime. NIS America plans a retail release in North America, and Crunchyroll is already streaming the anime, which premiered in Japan on Wednesday.

Touka Takei's original romantic comedy light novel series revolves around Sōta Hatate, a boy who has the unique ability to see "Flags" above the heads of other people. The "Flags" mark critical crossroads in people's lives — when the choices they make will determine love, friendship, victory, and even death. He transfers into Tokyo's elite Hatagaya Academy, but instead of living by himself in the boys' dormitory, he ends up living with five beautiful girls under one roof.

Shizue Kaneko (Mysterious Girlfriend X) is designing the characters. The anime is being produced by Hoods Entertainment (The Qwaser of Stigmata, Manyū Hiken-chō). Aoi Yūki performs the opening theme song.

Discotek have the DVD cover up on their facebook page, so it looks like no BD release for now. Though details on it aren't final they say.

I was so close to grabbing the Japanese release just a couple weeks ago (in fact its still sitting in my amazon.jp cart right now), but I might hold off and wait and see what Discotek does. It would certainly save me some money, which I am pretty short of.
If it turns out to be DVD only then I'll prob eventually get the JPN Blu.

Ah yeah, I remember you mentioning it in the JP Ghibli thread, so turns out the Toei Blu is pretty decent huh? I'm still hoping Discotek jumps on the Blu-ray bandwagon a little bit quicker and tries to get the JPN materials for a Blu-ray release. But as you said, still not enough details, I will be waiting as well.

Sentai Filmworks announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the anime adaptation of Ruri Miyahara's four-panel Love Lab manga series with plans to release the anime on home video.

The comedy manga revolves around the girls at the elite Fujisaki Girls' Middle School, which has tsundere (initially aloof and abrasive, but later kind-hearted), meganekko (eyeglasses-wearing girl), and other kinds of students. The cast includes Manami Numakura as Rico Kurahashi, Chinatsu Akasaki as Natsuo Maki, Inori Minase as Suzune "Suzu" Tanahashi, Ayane Sakura as yuiko "Eno" Enomoto, and Yō Taichi as Sayori "Sayo" Mizushima.

Masahiko Ohta (Yuruyuri, Mitsudomoe) directed at the studio Dogakobo (Yuruyuri, GJ Club). Takashi Aoshima (Yuruyuri, Mitsudomoe) was in charge of the series scripts, and Chiaki Nakajima (Yuruyuri) designed the characters. The five main cast members performed the opening and ending songs for the series.

The 13-episode anime premiered in Japan last summer and Crunchyroll began a simulcast starting with episode 9.

North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced Thursday that it licensed the slice of life comedy television series "The Comic Artist and His Assistants".

Sentai Filmworks will first release the series digitally and then on home video. Crunchyroll began streaming the series on April 7.

The original manga by Hiroyuki tells the story of professional manga artist Yūki Aito and his professional/personal relationship with his assistant Sahoto Ashisu and other staffers.

Takeshi Furuta (Giant Killing, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE episode director) is directing the series, Aki Itami (Flowers of Evil, Mushi-Shi) is writing the scripts, and Hitomi Tsuruta (The Knight in the Area) is designing the characters. Animation studio ZEXCS (D.C. ~Da Capo~, Flowers of Evil, Say, "I Love You".) is producing the series. The idol group StylipS performed the anime's opening theme "Junsui na Fujunbutsu," (A Purely Impure Person) and also performed the ending theme titled "Spica."

The four-panel slice-of-life comic began in 2008 and ended in 2012. Hiroyuki began the series again under the title Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to 2 in August. The 10th and final compiled volume of the original series shipped in 2012.
