Care to revise this ?

Too early to tell. One disastrous week isn't going to make a huge difference when you are talking about 12 weeks total. We have weeks 7/11 and 8/1 that can offset the 8/15 week. Still 5 weeks of data missing until the end of Q3.

Are we expecting sales up because no theaters are open and no new movies are being released compared to same time last year?

Thats been my biggest concern is just the lack of good media titles. Old movies coming out on 4K doesn't do it.

Even when there were new movies being released on disc, sales were down.

That’s the point I was trying to make a while back. It’s pointless.

Yes, but not to this degree. You can’t apply logic to this situation. There are no new releases, Blu-ray is a hit based format. UHD even more so. If Tenet, Mulan, WW, Bond etc were due on disc this month or last we would be seeing great numbers.

So how does all that reflect on catalog titles cause that's all that are being released.

Also keep in mind that historically, Q3 is the weakest quarter of the year for physical media sales.

Catalogue titles are never going to make up for big releases.

Then what's the motivation for studios to go to the effort of preparing then releasing catalog titles?

Have you seen how popular labels like Vinegar Syndrome are? They have to shut down their websites to handle shipping and demand sometimes. Also, there is a world outside the USA. On a title by title basis, it will be worth it.
