I can confirm that the theatrical trailer's audio is out of sync, not sure why Umbrella Enterainment didn't catch this.

Did you get hit any import fees? Just wondering as mines stuck at my local depot waiting for me to pay nearly £12 in fees

No mate I didn't. That's unlucky. Got mine from JB Hi-Fi, is this where you ordered yours from. I got stung for import fees when I ordered the complete Psycho collection from them, other than that I've always been lucky.

Yeah same place same item. Was first time ordering from them. Not been hit with import fees before. If it ws a few quid i wouldn't feel as bad but the item itself was about £15 so £12 of fees is killer. Dunno if i can get out of it

****in stoked. The problems expressed here are concerning, but Umbrella hasn't done me wrong yet, so I'm still excited.
Maybe haven't done me wrong either, but Umbrella has let me down a couple of times.
1984 had disappointing PQ.
They Live was not so great looking either.
Night of the Living Dead (1990) had heaps of print damage to begin with, but the dirt, debris & scratches did get better as the film went on (though still noticeable) and at least fine detail and grain were evident and was not DNR'd away.
And finally, The Punisher, only came with a 480p Unrated cut...

Having said all that about Umbrella, it is pleasing to know that they used the Criterion transfer (it appears) for the '58 film. Since I have never seen the McQueen version, it will be a treat.

Lastly, I thought it was cheeky to state that Son of Blob is part of the feature on Disc 2. Stating NTSC and SD are not legit enough.
Quite simply, anything SD on a BD should be clearly labelled as a Special Feature/Extra.

Anyone else noticed the subtitles are broken in a lot of places on the 1988 movie, either wrong letters or missing ones every now and then, I tried on 2 players with the same result.

I got my copy in today. 514/2300, the only problem on my end was that the case is pretty severely broken. Other than that, i'm glad to have another Umbrella release in my collection!

Came back from vacation to find this in the mailbox, #648. Good to know I don't need to spring for the Criterion original now!

Man, I bought my copy in the very first few days of release and got a copy that's number was over #1000. Not that a number worries me, I ain't selling it, I just think it's odd that my number is so high when I purchased it so early and all the others after me get a lower number, that's all.

Caps-a-holic comparison is up and I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer but the Umbrella has a much worse encode than the Twilight Time or German releases. Look at the grain turning into a chunky mess in the skies. Noticeable even in dark shots. Shame.

Fingers crossed Powerhouse Films will be the ones to finally get this right.
