A House Divided aka The Who Shot J.R. season 3 cliffhanger of Dallas (1980) this took the World by storm and CBS marketed the hell out of it the several months leading to season four episode 4 reveal.

That cliffhanger really wowed 11-year-old me and my friends and kept us in suspense all summer. Seen some good cliffhangers since, but none have beat that one for me.

The level of merchandising that accompanied this tagline was astronomical. I have yet to see anything come close to that (in regards to a television cliffhanger).

Just be glad that you did eventually find out. Anyone who is a big fan of the A&E network show named The Glades like me for example still doesn't know who the heck shot the lead character of the show. In August, it will be ten years since the show ended.

P.S. Who the heck shot Jim Longworth??? I believe that it was Ray's mom because she had a reason to, and she also had the opportunity and the ability.
