If I order a movie for store pickup, is there a way to get it curbside and how does IW work in that instance?

I’d honestly be surprised if any new titles ever get added to Instawatch at this point. It was already getting questionable over the past six months if titles would be added and now Walmart doesn’t really have much incentive to add it anymore.

Why wouldn't there be incentive as it helps them sell more physical movies?

Because WM sold Vudu to Fandango.

I don't think there's a curbside option for Walmart. I know there is for Target and Best Buy, but not Walmart that I know of? But I absolutely could be wrong. It's worth calling your specific Walmart to ask them. However, Instawatch is usually immediate if it has it. It will be removed though if your store cancels the movie or TV show on your store pickup order. But it'll be re-added if you order again (and rinse and repeat). You can usually search this thread to see if people have reported IW if it's one that doesn't explicitly state it

While I don't disagree that it probably will be going, it has been working still and thus that's why I posted (that and to let anyone who cares know lol). But now that I look at my email receipts, the last new ones were Brahms: The Boy II and Sonic the Hedgehog. Before that it was The Lodge.

I remember being surprised because Birds of Prey didn't give me Instawatch and I felt the 3 frequent companies to give it were Sony, WB, and Universal. The Hunt not giving it was another surprise too. I am kind of wondering if Instawatch on new movies is dead now that I realize it has been almost a month (for me at least and the releases I buy). Old movie IW is still working for ones that were already confirmed of course so IW is not completely dead, but I just wish that if it's gone for new releases that they'd say it. That's the only reason I buy at Walmart tbh.

Fandango acquired Vudu from Walmart and eventually FandangoNow and Vudu will probably merge. Instawatch was a Walmart offered incentive. If they're completely out, they have no reason to offer it anymore. Just like disc + digital (which is gone now from Vudu). I do believe it'll go with time, it's just the matter of when. My guess was end of June or early July.

Okay, had my very sweet mother scan the receipt into the Walmart app for me on the purchase of We Summon the Darkness blu-ray and Think Like a Dog blu-ray. Neither gave Instawatch.

Starting to think no more new release IW is coming after at least 2 or more weeks (almost 4 for me at least and the releases I buy) consistently without any new releases having it

Vudu specifically stated in their FAQ about the FN buyout that InstaWatch will continue. I fully expected M2D to stop, but they just added a ton of new M2D titles in June. I wouldn't give up hope on IW just yet... They were still adding titles in May. June just started... Give em time...

I know that. If Fandango wants InstaWatch to stick around (we have no idea if they do) then Walmart stands to continue selling more physical discs so there would be incentive to allow it to continue instead of canceling the program just because they no longer own Vudu. Sorry, just trying to look at it from another angle. I do, however, think the writing is very much on the wall though.

I saw someone selling IW for the Beverly Hills Cop Trilogy. I didn't realize that set came with one.

So it looks like the DVD trilogy comes with IW, but the blu-ray trilogy doesn't.

HD IW?

Do you get IW if you order from the site?

As usual, the site indicates nothing.

Just curious if you bought it on bluray or 4K cause my cousin bought the bluray at $24.96 and it gave instawatch cause he gave me the receipt.

I haven't purchased yet but I noticed those shady IW sites selling HD IW for the trilogy. However, the website doesn't mention anything outside of the DVD.

Not that it should affect many of us, but Walmart is now requiring your Vudu account to be attached to your Walmart account. This has killed IW sellers and their websites.

I wonder how big of a hit this is for the websites reselling IW.

It eliminates it. I am pretty sure they were the reason behind it to begin with.

I've never purchased codes off those sites but don't they have storefronts for regular codes as well?

I think many do. I have never bought a IW code either. I tend to stay away from most code stores.

My online order of Birds of Prey 4K gave UHD instawatch when I preordered.
