Real movies watched at double speed by millennials and gen Z.

I was hoping I had missed a reasonable explanation. But unsurprisingly you were referring to a crazy post with backwards logic.

It’s not crazy logic. If some sad person gets through an entire series by acting brain dead and watching at 1.5 speed, they may feel like they can get through another series that they might have been on the fence about. Hence, they end up watching something they might not have done at normal speed. It’s pathetic but this feature is being requested don’t forget. That’s how it’s getting trialled on Android. It’s the attention challenged mob essentially, they don’t care about film, just being first on Twitter.

No one in their right minds would want to watch a film in FF if they cared about film. I guarantee you that.

Even at 1.5 speed a typical season on Netflix is still 5-8 hours long. Anyone who has that terrible of attention span isn't going to be watching any of Netflix's highly serialized shows (which is most of them).

Personally I think the variable speed option will mostly be used by fanatics who want to quickly review scenes of their favorite shows and movies. Netflix also has plenty of informational videos (like TED talks) that people like to speed through. There is no evidence that lots of people want to watch entire seasons sped up.

If millennials have as terrible attention spans as you think then why are binge-watching, serialized shows, and long movies more popular than ever?

If the majority of the population watch like this, we are in trouble.

Those people didn’t have this option before. It might well be different when they do.

You have no evidence that it will be. It would have to be more than 99% of viewers watching sped up for Netflix to even consider dropping the option to watch at normal speeds. That's never going to happen.

I couldn't care less what speed other people choose to watch movies and TV shows at. I will watch at original speed at that option is never going away.

That doesn't mean that any of those things are likely to happen.
I hope beyond hope you are right. The fs t that people are even gs I g the discussion on social media shows how far we have fallen as a society that sine would even consider watching a film that way.

Sony Interactive Entertainment to Shut Down PlayStation Vue

Another streamer bites the dust and I have evidence here. Guess Sony could not find a buyer.

Sony aren’t doing well with streaming video. Been a disaster for them. I think they will sell Sony Pictures to Apple in the next year or two and focus exclusively on PlayStation brands.

Anyone with a Playstation 3 has had this option for over 12 years. Nothing has suffered as a result of it, either.

You want me to apologize for possibly having attention span problems? No one has ever asked me for an apology for possibly having a medical problem before.

This is the first time for a major subscription streaming service and the biggest at that.

Actually, I said no such thing. I simply replied to your post where you had mentioned BOTH music and games.
