Which begs the question... how long before Opera gets the 4K treatment? It's the only Argento from that era still begging. Is it still with Scorpion Releasing in the U.S?

Edited: Well... and Inferno. How could I forget that! It has probably my favorite Argento set-piece.

If you can, read Roberto Curti's long piece on INFERNO in the second of his Italian Gothic horror volumes. He references Argento's original script plus interviews he conducted, and details a lot of stuff that was scripted but not shot, stuff that was shot then deleted, stuff where the FX wasn't up to par and they half shot it and then removed it from the movie. Lots of crazy scenes described which would have made the final film even wilder.

Putting films from two different trilogies in one box is a mish mash of highest order

The so-called animals trilogy was only named so long after the fact. Bird, Cat and Flies aren't a trilogy.

By that logic almost no trilogy is a trilogy

Wonder why they won't re-release the UHD for Suspiria?

Is this worth getting if those are the exact major Argento movies missing from my collection, and I probably won't upgrade Argento to 4K in the next few years? - Currently on sale it's the same price as one 4K from Arrow (considering 2 for 40 offer) so would be a nice way to get these movies cheap.

Or are there still likely going to be better 1080p releases of those movies soon?

There's already better BD releases of ALL 3 films:

Suspiria - The Synapse release has its own 4K restoration which is the same as the German 4K one but with lots of colour correction etc that the German TLE restoration did NOT address etc as well as being encoded by David Mackenzie.

Opera - The Scorpion 3-Disc Limited Edition (region free despite the packaging saying it is region A) has BOTH versions of the film as well as the best extras.

Four Flies on Grey velvet - The Severin release has a 4K transfer with NO SD inserts like the Shameless release.

Basically get the following releases:

Suspiria - Synapse BD.
Opera - Scorpion 3 disc limited edition.
Four Flies on Grey velvet - The Severin UHD release which includes the BD of the film.

I think you can only get Four Flies by nicely emailing Severin though.
