Germany 1408?

the dvd release is scheduled for Oct 2. why not on Blu??

edit: my bad, i was under the impression that it was MGM, but they only took care of the theatrical release. dimension is responsible.

Dimension Films distributes this film, and Dimension Films is a Subsidiary of Weinstein, Weinstein is HD-DVD exclusive, I hope they switch soon as I would love to get 1408 on blu-ray!

I saw it twice in the theaters and it kicked. It's not gory or really scary, but it is diabolical, and really trippy. Oddly enough it is quite funny as well. I will definitely buy this on blu when it comes out.

Needless to say, gore does not equal scary.

John Cusack has always been one of my favorite actors. as a matter he comes to number 1. the only issue i have with 1408 is it is a different type of movie for him. was it/is it worth owning?.

I just remember the movie previews and looked like buy. But i'll hold out for Blu ray, since it should make the picture alot nicer. This looks like one of those movies that it would look good on high deff.

Yeah I thought it was weird when I saw the commercial and no HDDVD release.
Maybe they are saving it for Blu.

So would it now be safe to assume this movie will make it to Blu-Ray soon?

There was a recent thread on this topic and a source was given but I don't have it on me. I wouldn't doubt it if its coming out on BD around September. I enjoyed this movie at theaters and will gladly watch it again in a better experience.

its been out on blu ray for quite some time and it looks stunning the studio that released it has been a bit hit and miss with their releases but 1408 looks great.

if your based in the states and want a copy its been released in holland but XC who is based in america stock it

I would prefer a Region B release if possible, which is why I asked about the release as I already know about the Dutch import version.

I would get that, but it's pricey and I heard that Region B people wouldn't be able to play the Special Features which is why I want it.
