I've learned that for the 3D to be good in post-converted live action films, the director has to film it in such a way that it works well with 3D. There are certain camera angles and effects which when post converted turn out really well and look as though it was filmed in 3D. Hopefully Snyder has put some thought into it this time around because MoS was barely 3D.
Regardless, I'll still be picking up the 3D Bluray some time in July 2016. ![]() |

Zivouhr's post shows it best: Michael Rosenbaum, who is more of a comedic actor, had it down. He could be friendly and charming, but there was something just below the surface. Say what you will about Smallville, in my mind the definitive Lex will always be Rosenbaum. Again, this may be the best ever Superman movie for you. And that's awesome, if so. For me, it doesn't fit. It's DC trying to shoe-horn things together for a Justice League movie. |

![]() For animation, the Lex Luthor for Superfriend's Justice League was all evil, but great. He's wearing the purple costume. |

Dfference is that MAX was intended to be shot in 3D. Altho they had to shoot in 2D (after having problems with the cameras in that environment), it was still shot with 3D in mind. We don't know if Snyder did that, or just shot it as a 2D movie (as he did with MAN OF STEEL).

3D works ideally when the filmmaker composes each shot for the best 3D, but it can work for films framed for 2D, just not as effectively as the tops of people's heads are framed off, certain object placements in the shots are overlooked, etc. I'm just hoping Snyder's team budgeted for stronger 3D and hired a conversion team to do it justice compared to the mostly mild 3D of Man of Steel.
It will definitely be a challenge to balance out the other new characters, but I can imagine the story arc will be: [Show spoiler] Justice League appearing in Batman v Superman: Batman Superman Wonder Woman The Flash Aquaman Cyborg |

Looks like there will be an extended cut on Blu-ray:
http://www.ew.com/article/2016/02/23...ted-home-video It would be nice if they convert it to 3D as well. But this would be a first, wouldn't it? |

It's not good to have choose between the two, but I'll always go with the theatrical 3D cut any day over an extended cut, as an extended cut doesn't always equal a better movie.
The hopeful news is that Wolverine's extended cut includes the blu ray 3D version also. |

Thanks BleedOrange for the trailer in 3D.
![]() As a decent fan of Man of Steel, the 3D was mostly a let down of mild 3D, though I was entertained by the movie for the most part. This one looks entertaining and potentially fun, and the 3D is better than Man of Steel's 3D, with medium to high medium 3D layers from the look of that. Was it filmed with 3D in mind? Likely not, but it looks like a good conversion based on that trailer. |
