I didn't know that. I thought they were dug out of the ground like in the movies.

In the books both Uruk-hai and Orcs breed like "the children of Iluvatar" (=elves and men).
The Uruk-hai creation scene in the movie is an invention of the screenwriters.

Dae female orcs get maternity leave? Who looks after the weans if they don't? Are there nurseries for baby orcs?

Hope the Amazon show explores these questions and helps expand the Tolkien Cinematic universe.

Happy to see Ents in the preview. Everything else looks a bit like high-end cosplay. I'm sure that will fall away once the show debuts, and begins to forge its own identity separate from the films.

Please do - get as far away from the films as possible. That will be better for all parties involved, IMO.
