Receiver Recommendations?

Hey all, I am in need of a new receiver since I am making the jump to 4K and I would love to hear your advice. I have been using my existing Yamaha RX-V471 for years and have enjoyed it.

Some relevant info:

• I use my system for gaming, music, and movies in that order of priority.
• I care most about sound and picture quality, less about features.
• I don't really need anything more than 5.1 for the foreseeable future.
• I am currently using homemade speakers based on the X-LS Encore kit from GR Research (8 ohm, 87db sensitivity, -3db @ 55Hz, 1.8Hz crossover).
• I would like to stay on the budget side of $500, but I would be willing to consider expanding my budget if there is a compelling enough reason to.

What would you recommend for me?

There are so many basic 5.1 receivers to choose from, so which brand do your prefer or partial to from previous experiences that you like? There's: Sony Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer, Marantz and Yamaha.

Hey slimdude, thanks for the reply. Although I have enjoyed my Yamaha, I am not loyal to any particular brand and would be happy to consider any of them.
