Peccadillo is a UK distributor primarily focused on LGBT films, often with a focus on world cinema - although they cross over outside of LGBT cinema too - that’s existed for the past twenty years or so. Many of their releases are listed on Amazon and the database as Saffron Hill, but they’ve traded under several names including Petit Péche and Parasol Peccadillo. They have greater visibility than TLA Releasing (mostly DVD only, without cinema releases). Unfortunately their films are often small enough to end up only on DVD, but they’ve released many titles on Blu-ray and often do a great job. Plus their releases are often cheap and always slimline! Some of their older releases are OOP unfortunately. They also do the Boys on Films series of short films on DVD. Their website is here: https://www.peccapics.com/ Their webstore is here: https://shop.peccapics.com/ Some people may have a negative view of them for the transfer on Heavenly Creatures - but the half hour featurette Looking Back interviewing Kim Newman, Alan Jones and Rosie Fletcher is quite worthwhile. Their Blu-ray release of Our Children is stacked, with an additional feature Private Madness and a short film, Avant les mots. Their DVD releases of The Watermelon Woman is an improvement upon the barebones US release, including three very engaging short films by Cheryl Dunye, Greetings from Africa, The Potluck and the Passion & She Don't Fade. Their DVD of I Got Life! features an interview with the director and Monsieur l’Abbe short film. Taking a look at the Blu-ray of A White, White Day as it was only £9 to preorder - Peccadillo released it to virtual cinemas in July. It comes on a BD-50 in a slimline blue case, and starts with skippable trailers for Monsoon and And Then We Danced. The extras have a “play all” option. Scenes from a Process - Making A White, White Day runs 45:47. This has some 4:3 production footage, rehearsals, still photos, even a curved widescreen frame - it’s quite artfully done, in English and Icelandic with subtitles. A Conversation With Director Hylnur Pálmason - 16:18 UK Theatrical Trailer - 1:55 The disc also has a trailer gallery that is selectable or plays automatically after the menu is left idle, with trailers for Papicha, The Ciambara, The Treatment, Sócrates, Girls Lost, Embrace of the Serpent, Monsoon, And Then We Danced Last edited by CelestialAgent; 11-30-2020 at 07:02 PM. |

Thanks for pointing out their shop, I have wanted A White, White Day for a while, but the situation with shipping at Amazon is something of a fiasco, so I've been ordering from label sites where possible instead. I find several (though not all) have reasonable shipping fees to the USA and while VAT is almost never removed, in the short term I am happy to throw a little extra directly to the labels to support them.
Peccadillo is no exception, as it is only £3.60 for 1 disc and £5.35 for 2 discs, so with the £9 pre-order price on Monsoon, it was an easy decision to add that to my order. I watched the trailer and it looks interesting, mainly because of the Vietnam setting, and it is with Strand in the USA so a Blu-ray here seems unlikely. In any event, it is a UK production. I also added Monsoon to the database. True to pandemic form, those shipping to the USA cannot pre-order it from Amazon, even though it is out in less than two weeks: ![]() |

I wonder if they are still intending to release And Then We Danced on Blu Ray. It was supposed to be released on Blu Ray but got pushed back.
Must admit I just went ahead and purchased the U.S. edition, which is region locked and the film certainly deserves a Region B release. |

The Inspiration Behind And Then We Danced Making And Then We Danced LBGTQ+ Issues in Georgia Although the Region A Blu-ray is probably more attractive with the commentary, interview, Q&A, dance tutorial But I’ve no idea if they’re of any substance. Most of their extras bundles end up mirrored on the Vimeo On Demand pages, but it won’t show you runtimes for extras or anything like that. Basically what they said in their newsletter if I remember correctly is their plans for both cinema release and BD vs. DVD was affected by the pandemic |

Looking at the sort of thing they're releasing, I wonder if they might try to get hold of Ozon's Swimming Pool?

Maybe Studio Canal will release it in the near future in the UK. Would be a day one buy for me. A number of Ozon films would certainly be a good fit for Peccadillo. |

Peccadillo is much more focused on releasing new films than back catalogue, the only older films I’m aware of them doing is Taxi Zum Klo, Buddies, Totally F***ed Up, Heavenly Creatures, The Watermelon Woman. It’s not really their prerogative. It Pathé’s rights lapsed, probably by about 2023, I could more see it going to Curzon, StudioCanal or BFI.

30% off until 11th Jan, so Monsoon is only £8.40. Paired it with Sauvage and 1985 (£6.29, £5.59).
HMV website has some £5.99 titles also, just search Saffron Hill Last edited by CelestialAgent; 12-26-2020 at 01:46 AM. |

Nope, got a dispatch email on the 29th but then had forgotten all about it until I just saw your post.
It got posted Second Class and I know there are delays due to illness and things so I'll probably give it another week or so before flagging. |
