So just read a small article about the rating success of the new "Season 10" of The X Files after episode 2, and there was talk about it possibly continuing if everyone involved schedules align and allow. So there a very very slim chance it could go beyond this special.

On a side note...
Q. Do you think the individual season will ever be released on BluRay?

if you mean the new series then i would definitely hope so since i thought the whole point of redoing the original 9 seasons with a spare slot in the box ready for the new series was to help promote the new series even further.

by the way for uk members Fpx is still selling these on Rakuten for£100 except for the next few days they have a 10% discount 'JAN2016' so that is £90

enjoy

Considering there is already a listing on Amazon Germany then yes, it most certainly will.

Yeah, there's a space in the collectors edition especially for the blu release

I get the impression he missed the 's' off so was asking whether the seasons will ever be released individually.

yeah I missed the 's' off. Sorry. Knew there was space for Season 10 in the collection boxset, but what would annoy me more if they produced another Special then it won't fit in the box.

I noticed that Amazon.com has all seasons for separate purchase right now, and I just read a reply above that Germany has them listed for June release. So heres hoping that UK could follow.

I thought you were inquiring about the new season so that is what the German June release is for and not for the previous seasons.

According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, Fox already has begun shipping out replacement discs (presumably in the US)

As we reported, this past early December the folks at Fox Home Entertainment released Blu-ray Disc versions of The X-Files - Collector's Box Set and as individual season sets. Folks who have made it as far as The X-Files - The Complete Season 8 on Blu-ray will have noticed that EVERY EPISODE in that season has an issue with the black levels on those, resulting in substandard video quality. Our friend Bill Hunt at The Digital Bits has previously reported that Fox is "replicating replacement discs now, with an expected ship date of March 2016. If you've purchased the set, contact Fox Customer Care by this e-mail address to arrange a replacement: foxconnect@orderassistance.com. This exchange program should work in all countries/regions globally." Our thanks to one of our readers, "Mark," for pointing it out to us!

UPDATE (1/28): Another of our readers, Jake Grantz, informs us overnight that shipments of replacement discs (without a case...with "each individual replacement disc housed in white sleeves wrapped in bubble tape") have actually begun arriving this week. Thanks for the heads-up, Jake!

A few members have already had theirs. I'm not sure when us lot will get them.

Well I've only just finished the first season. So, by that rate of progression through the set, any time within the next six months or so is fine with me!

One of the members in the US thread stated they were. No details other than that though.

Several members have said the discs they're getting are. So fingers crossed that means the rest of us should get our (Hopefully correctly labelled) replacements in March.

Why would they be incorrectly labelled? Or are you referring to the BBFC ratings logos for the UK/IRL market?

Personally I couldn't care less about such, I would be happy with the US prints if it meant we got them quicker as they would be region free.

I am more concerned that regionalising sending out these could cause errors. I somehow think reprints for the UK/IRL market would come from Technicolor and their disc replication is based in Poland.

For anyone curious, the Amazon Prime "HD" copies of s8 are like the itunes copies with correct lighting (printscreen of my 1920x1200 screen, 16:10);

I was referring to the BBFC Ratings logos. They all (even the US & UK ones) come from the same master anyway, so the only thing that's different on the disc is the labelling.

I would just sooner have them shipped from the US as is, really not at all fussed about having a BBFC logo printed on the disc. Having dealt with Fox in the offices of 20th Century Fox in London who do not seem to know their ass from their elbow I have more of a bad feeling if shipping is organised by them.

Slim chance ? The plan with season 10 always was to test the waters for a revival of the series.
