I know that Scandinavia lost their Enterprise BDs mid way through the run so had to import from elsewhere, and as you say it seems other countries did as well. Only TNG survived with releases for all 7 seasons everywhere which started to release it, although I think only North America and possibly Australia got all the standalone movie edit disks, some like UK stopped much earlier than Germany.

With Fox it seems odd that Digitalbits are reporting that they are releasing Lost in Space at least in the US later this year, although I guess X-Files is a bigger project with more seasons, hence more disks and a more expensive proposition for people to buy into.

Yes, of course you're right. I was searching for information as I typed the post. Even the website contradicts itself. If season one sold 95,000 units (which I assume are BDs) then why are the reports for 36,110 units or the 35,515 units in the chart itself?

The best new release of the week was Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season One, which sold 95,000 units and generated $5.73 million in revenue. This revenue was tops for the week. This is an excellent start for a TV on DVD release, especially one that's not a first-run release.

The TNG figures don't seem that bad. Grim: Season One sold 13,315 the next week and Glee: Season Three 17,086 the week after. Only Dexter did better with over 50 thousand units been sold and that stayed in the chart the next week as well.

Once again I'm searching whilst typing ...

But the week after, September 2, 2012. The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season sold 112 thousand units, Sons of Anarchy 52 thousand units, Boardwalk Empire 28 thousand. Once Upon A Time and Homeland also did well that week (it was a huge TV week) and The Walking Dead's first season also sold nearly 10,00 units. So TNG's first season certainly competed with all but the best sellers but they stayed in the charts for a several weeks.

The Digital Bits reported today of a link to an Australian Government board of classification website that suggests The X-Files: The Complete Series may finally be coming to Blu-ray Disc. This is a great clue that discs are hopefully coming to a retailer near you.

Most likely they'll want the BDs out ahead of the new series, so as to ramp up interest.

I'm surprised FOX hasn't released X-Files on Netflix UK, I never saw it in it's original broadcast and I'm wanting to get in on it for the new mini series but I can't view it anywhere, it would have to be cheap now what with Ultra HD Blu-ray being close. Same goes for Twin Peaks.

This is the most promising thing i've seen to suggest a release of the entire series on Blu Ray The X-Files is my favourite series of all time and if the Blu Ray boxset is coming out first in Australia (like The Sopranos series on Blu Ray did If I recall?) then so be it if it's indeed coming I don't mind waiting a bit longer for the UK release as long as it coming out I'm happy no over the moon infact. I"m thinking the RRP will be around 200 quid in the UK maybe a bit less anyway I hope we hear more news soon!

TVWise are reporting that Sky are close to signing the new X-Files and that includes the original series for both TV and online. Was reportedly why the negotiations were taking so long as they had a massive struggle with Amazon Prime for the rights package. You will be able to watch as part of the boxsets in their on demand offering to subscribers. However if you go the cheap option of Sky Now online that is only SD, you will need a TV aubscription and watch via your Sky TV HD box for it in HD.

So looks like what HBO have done with Sky in the UK bundle everything together which stops us even getting ultraviolet digital copies on HBO BDs unlike US and rest of world.

This explains why HD X-Files has not appeared on Netflix UK as they were playing the long game of selling everything in an exclusive package for premium price.

Is This supposed to be the runtime for all the Extras on the set 789 min that is a lot of Extras

VAM is Value Added Material, so it's the extras. It depends on if the older extras need to be reclassified, but there's a good chance these are new featurettes and commentaries.

Its more than 1 hour of new Extras a season. I think its pretty good because i also think the old features are on also

I dont think commentaries are counted. I think they are seperating Those with video based features

You're right, commentaries get submitted as separate episodes with the BBFC. I'd imagine Australia is similar, but it's a good chunk of extras, especially if it new.
