It certainly is. I imported it at the end of last year. Weirdly, the sleeve has BBFC '15' certificates plastered on the artwork (same as that image), as you would expect over here, but not on a US release.

Forgive my ignorance if an index list has been posted, but I'm just trying to finish off my Black House Blu-ray collection from Screenbound / Odeon.

Does anyone know the films that fill #6 and #18 of the collection? That Cat.BHB006 and Cat.BHB018

IMDB doesn't list who the editor was. Do you know if Roeg was involved/oversaw it?

I highly recommend you getting the Mondo Macabro BD of The Devil's Nightmare as it is a much better release & ACTUALLY has extras.

Also the UK BD release of Demoniacs is CUT. Hasn't been re-classified since 2004.

Will you please stop spreading this misinformation? This was my reply to you the last time you posted about this.

The UK blu runs 100m 5s which is 7 minutes longer than that cut submission from 2004. It is also longer than the old R1 Redemption DVD.
By your logic the Arrow Blu-ray of House IV is also cut, as that isn't on the BBFC site either...

The editors were Peter Neal and Elizabeth Kozmian-Ledward.
I believe Roeg oversaw the filming (as director and DoP) but quickly moved on to Don't Look Now and was unable to dedicate himself to the post-production, so Peter Neal took over and gained the credit as sole director. Roeg was only reinstated as the director through the 2009 DVD release.

I remember watching it when I was about 10 and being horrified yet still highly engaged. Definitely going to get it.

I have the Shout disc and had the DVD, but that ending is so emotionally gut wrenching that the film - which is excellent and well ahead of its time in terms of animation - may never leave my to watch pile.

I've never seen it, Watership Down was traumatising enough as a kid and I've heard all about this one.

Might pick it up and watch it when the kids are out

If Watership Down was animation a la Sam Peckinpah - The Wild Bunnies - Plague Dogs is the Au Hasard Balthazar of animated features. It's an excellent film with incredibly ambitious animation but it's pretty traumatizing for kids and many adults - even though not especially graphic it's way beyond Bambi's mum - something many animation critics tore it to shreds for at the time (many thought it totally inappropriate subject matter for animation, but it would have been unfilmable in live action).

Thanks a lot.

I know Roeg isn’t credited as editor on most (or any?) of his films, but editing is such a defining feature of his work that he must’ve overseen the process a lot of the time. The editing is the thing that intrigues me about his films the most. With his having left Glastonbury Fayre during production, I supposed he might not have been around at all during post.

I'll likely still pick it up someday, but just not immediately.

Oh, I agree. I just don't have the balls to revisit. Took me a while to get over it when I was a kid

I notice that Odeon previously released The Seventh Victim on DVD.

I wonder what the chances are of a Blu-ray?

I'll ask Brad Stevens on Facebook since he wrote about them in one of the Darkside magazine issues a about 18 months ago.

I think I might have got it mixed up with Requiem for a Vampire which I know IS STILL CUT. I also know that Rollin's Schoolgirl Hitch Hikers UK BD (Maison Rouge - another Screenbound label) IS CUT as well.

I rate Plague Dogs higher than Watership Down and regard myself as a big fan of the later. Very glad to see it finally coming to UK blu-ray as previous DVDs have been less than stella.

Like jackranderson I was about 10 when I first saw it. I was horrified by some of the imagery, shocked (and amused) by some of the language and saddened and confused by the finale. Watching as an adult the film is less violent and sweary than I remember though a particularly shocking just off camera death (thankfully not spoilered in the above trailer) that literally comes out of nowhere will stick in your mind long after the film's over. It is however right from the opening scene relentlessly bleak. Speaking as a parent while yes I would say it's suitable for children I would certainly advise giving it a watch before deciding if they're mature enough to cope (plus if you do let them it's probably best to have a responsible adult there to answer questions)

Hope this new edition contains the alternative cut included on Optimum DVD so I don't need to hang onto that.

The Maison Rouge Schoolgirl Hitchhikers is fully uncut. Its got all the stuff missing from the previous release. Full details are on the 'UK Blu Rays cut or banned thread'.
Only censored Screenbound Rollin is Requiem for a Vampire.
