I caved and placed an order (with some collectors sets) and the mystery boxes. Only a few copies remained on several of the sets I ordered so I didn’t want to miss out on them (especially the Lupin sets). Even though those are still available on Amazon UK, the Anime Limited storefront is almost depleted of copies on some sets.

Of course this comes on the radar when i'd just dropped 54quid on the regular blu's from HMV a couple of weeks ago smh. So far I've got Gundam Wing, 00, and Turn-A series and Lupin IV dubbed in my cart. Any suggestions on other items worth importing to US to hit the free shipping threshold? I already have 0083 and the original 79 series.

Maybe some Gundam movies? Escaflowne? Gurren Lagann? Fujiko Mine?

Just remember for the buy 1 get 1 the cheaper movies will lessen the amount of money you save as all cheaper discs will become the "second" free disc to a more expensive one.

The previous AL releases of Konosuba were clones of the Discotek discs, so they may be waiting for a US release to base theirs off of.

I think they specifically said that was the reason for the holdback at one point. Not sure if there's a limit to that, though. Crunchyroll is terrible at releasing movies to disc (movies for things like Date a Live and Tanya never got released), so I wonder if there's a point, say, after a year or two, where they'd say "screw it" and just release it themselves.

Worth noting that Date A Live: Mayuri Judgement was licensed under FUNimation while Saga of Tanya the Evil was licensed under Crunchyroll, both well before the merger.

I'm worried about Mayuri Judgement. Heaven's Lost Property: Final took a ridiculously long time to get licensed (six long years...), it was then streaming-only and got a release like over a year or so later (streamed September 2020, released January 2022). Mayuri Judgement streamed later (September 2021), and that failed to get a release before they began phasing out the FUNimation brand, and it looks like it could end up SOL simply because of the merger.

Yeah, I'm kinda assuming that it won't get a release at this point, which is odd for a franchise Funi picked up season after season. I don't really see what the merger has to do with it, though; if they wanted to release it, they could have just like they did with the Heaven's Lost Property one.

Technically they still could, in the sense that How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Omega, an April 2021 series, was solicited for February 2023. So with a similar delay, you'd see Mayuri by July 2023. Not counting on that, to be clear, but technically they did go back and release a couple of 2021 titles that were streamed earlier than September 2021 just in their most recent solicits (the other being Horimiya, which was an even earlier January 2021 title).
