Not sure if this was mentioned - I just noticed it now in watching the unboxing video as he flipped through the pages. The storybook is the exact same as the previous diamond edition digibook in terms of the actual book content. The only difference I could spot was the first page, the original book did not have the "This Book Belongs To" block - it just had that background pattern. All of the other pages are the exact same, though.

I'm torn, on one hand the collector part of me likes having all of these. On the other hand, I've basically paid $25 for something I already had, plus a digital code.

Anyone else think they will change the DC digibooks to this digipak crap?

I believe this is Disney enforcing the change to all releases, not Target requesting it.

I just got my copy in the mail, as disappointing as this is, I'll be keeping my copy. I tweeted Target about this and they responded:

Quote:
Whenever we offer a Target exclusive, we want to provide a special experience that meets our guest’s expectations. We apologize that the Peter Pan blu-ray fell short for you, and we will inform our electronics team of your feedback. We hope you still love this "ageless" classic.
I doubt this will actually change anything, but if any of you who bought this have a Twitter account, tag Target and let them know what you think.

Don't doubt. It won't change anything.

I love digibooks, digipacks are nice but if they started the Target exclusive signature series with digibooks they should have finished with them. I was very mad when Best Buy exclusives went from lenticulars to godawful steelbooks for this collection.

The only way to let Disney know that this change is absurd, pointless and unneeded is to NOT buy their releases.

I don't mind them either. Although I prefer digibooks, both are preferable to steelbooks for me. I'm just happy to get any sort of special packaging for the Disney films.

Saw it was a digipack when I went to go pick it up. Glad I passed. I have the old digibook and it'll do. This was an easy pass.

Best of luck waiting, hoping, praying that any studio(let alone Disney) actually completes a line of films in the same packaging. Short of a few outliers, the only thing studios are consistent at is being inconsistent.
Thankfully I like digipak almost as much as I like digibooks, so keep ‘em coming.
