Good to hear, hope JVC includes a discrete IR code for this function.

First thing I do to my projector and direct view displays, turn off frame interpolation, noise reduction, sharpening and enable original frames.

It's not a contest. We should just buy what we want and can afford.

Healthcare expenses and medical downtime have curtailed my spending significantly, but I still manage to buy much of what I want.

Wow, that's a hell of a lot mate. Hats off to you. Your collection, plus those of many others here, puts mine to shame.
Thanks mate. I don’t drink or smoke, no wife or kids as you know, so I can put most of my spare money into my passion. Just the way I like it.

Fast food is a vice mind you!

By the way, you have a passion for film, that’s what counts.

I keep my collection up to date on here. I just add a title when I place the order so it's just a matter of switching to a different browser window. I use an app to catalog my collection as well, but I like the statistics this site provides.

Like I know my price per SKU is $16.33. Not all of my movies have the price listed but I would say 90% do, so that number is fairly accurate.

@ bhampton

Brian,

Finally measured my Zappiti NAS power consumption, idle = 61 watts, reading (all drives) 112 watts. It has 8 14TB WD Red+ NAS drives for 112TB total, 98TB useable.

Wendell, are you picking up Frozen Planet 2? It’s launching here late October. Picking up the 4K for sure.

I don't see a listing for a "Frozen Planet 2" anywhere in the world.

Shouldn't it be titled "Melting Planet" at this point?

Will do when available. As of now has not been announced in the US or on the international list here. I like this site will notify me when a title becomes available. True Lies and The Abyss have been there for more than 11 years. Really .

Could have sworn the date was 28th. It’s actually earlier, 14th Oct.

I was tempted to buy the Spanish blu-ray (under the title Mentiras Arriesgadas), however many Spanish titles are unfortunately on burnt discs rather than pressed ones. I could be wrong, but I also have a suspicion it won't be that different to watching the DVD.

I have spent well over 100K on blu-ray and UHD and my collection is smaller than many of the members that I see on here. It is easy to spend that kind of money.

I have no idea how much I have spent buying movies over my lifetime to date. Probably over a $100 guessing conservatively.

While I don't know the exact figure, I do know that I have no regrets.

I actually traveled 55 miles each way to buy my copy of:

...after Amazon showed no sign of ever shipping my July pre-order of it.

How's that for being passionate about movies? Traveling is kinda hard for me these days; I don't do it lightly.

I started to watch Cobra Kai Season 5 and bought The Black Phone on Sale on Vudu. Fantastic!

Hey Vilya according to your information you have about 5000 BD. With a low estimate of spending $100K, your Average Disc Cost is $20....Enjoy!

I'm probably the only one here who still hasn't converted to multi-region discs. In a way, it's a mixed blessing. Although I am admittedly missing out on some fantastic American releases that are region-locked, at the same time this is also removing the temptation for me to spend even more money.

I guess you missed the conversation a few pages back... Steedeel doesn't have multi-region capability either.

Same here. I suspect the temptation will prove too great in the end, (although I've been saying that for some time now. ) I do have lots of USA titles which are region-free, for example those from Twilight Time and Warner Archive Collection, but labels such as Kino and Shout are region-locked as far as I know, and they do have some titles which I would like to own.
