On this day in 2021 I was admitted to the hospital. Four surgeries and 10 days later I was discharged. It took another 19 months and three more hospital stays to arrive at a correct diagnosis, but here I am, two years later, still standing (albeit a bit unsteady at times).

I ordered myself a little present to celebrate . It is something that I really wanted to see as I have heard so many good things about it.

I also ordered to give as a gift to my friend Warren. He drives me to all of my long distance appointments in St. Louis, a 210 mile round trip. He uses his vacation days to do this for me. He and his wife both really enjoyed this movie and I thought that they might like to own their own copy. They are not 4K capable yet.

While awaiting delivery of this movie, I have been streaming His Dark Materials on Max. I have made it to the final episode of season 1 and so far it has been very entertaining.

Normally, I would have just bought the series on blu-ray, but with circumstances being what they are I have not been buying many discs and especially not TV series.

Currently, I am dealing with dehydration on top of everything else, which is lowering my blood pressure even more than usual. It makes me very light headed. I also have a big week this week. I begin my clinical drug trial on Friday and I have two days of unpleasant testing June 5th-6th. Watching escapist fantasy fare seems to be the best way to approach these coming ordeals.

Happy Memorial Day to each of you.

Why things are removed from Streaming services...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/comp...ss/ar-AA1bQ71d

"As media companies have been desperate to make streaming profitable, the businesses have been turning more and more to new advertising strategies, from cheaper, ad-supported offerings to putting content on FAST channels.

"My main takeaway is that nothing is guaranteed to remain on streaming forever. You are paying for a convenient way to watch content, but it is not a replacement for buying a movie or TV show on home video," Cartelli said."

Streaming is here today gone tomorrow.

Yeah, when I heard Disney+ was to remove content it pretty much solidified it. Streaming is great for trying out new stuff, but its wishful thinking to believe anything will be safe on it, even if the content is owned by the company in question.

As soon as we finish Prehistoric Planet 2 on ATV+ I will cancel the sub. Will be down to just Prime, had 7 subs sometime back.

Speaking of Prime.

I have prime so I don't know why the Dungeons and Dragons UHD BD that I ordered on April 17th and was released today is due to arrive on June 21st.

Estimates for an order placed today would be due to arrive by Friday.
I have checked back a few times today to see if they changed that estimate but it stands and I don't understand it. It's not combined with any other item either.

Someone online said they cancelled prime and just wait until they have a few orders to make at the same time and they still get fast free shipping and it's really not as painful as it would seem to cancel Prime.

I like the ATV+ content more than any of the other services and my kids like the Apple Music. Heck, I like the Apple Music too but for anything I would rather own I still would rather buy a copy.

Why are you canceling ATV+, Wendell? I think it's one of the better streaming services. Foundation S2 premieres in a couple of weeks, which should be great. S1 was awesome.

Drops of God season finale is this Thursday night. I just finished binging For All Mankind S3 and that's another great show. They've got lots of great content.

I have Strange New Worlds on 4K disc pre-order and it says it will arrive July 10, but it releases in a couple of weeks.

I agree. Will most likely resume in the late fall.

ATV is kind of one of the worst IMO. It just doesn't have much of anything as far as a catalog goes. Every other streaming service puts out high quality originals and has a catalog. ATV is the only streaming service i can browse everything they have to offer in like 3 mins. Its quite litterly built to binge for a month if you have to watch some show and then drop it because they have nothing to keep you between new shows.

That's fine since I'm there for the original programming, which is great. If I want catalog titles I have other streaming sources along with my physical media collection to pull from.

I also binge series across the multiple streaming sources that I subscribe too, as well. It balances out for me.

I got my pre-ordered copy today (along with 65). I don't have Prime.

Well, ... That's very sad but I can suggest maybe money or lack or money is likely the reason.

My local Red Cross is giving away a Backyard Home Theater Package to someone who donates Blood this month.

Including a laser wireless projector and screen, projector tripod, smokeless firepit, Adirondack chair set with four chairs and two tables and a movie night snack package.

Made my appointment for what will be my 11th donation so I guess if I win I'll have to watch Spinal Tap on the backyard system.

Very best wishes for the upcoming few days. Will be thinking of you.

then you're not looking hard enough.

Severance and Pachinko were arguably the best shows of last year. and for All Mankind Season 3 was just as good. and black bird was great too. slow horses is cool too.

right now Silo is airing and it's good. Drops of God just finished. I enjoyed that one. Currently watching Platonic. it's okay, more of a background show but i like the actors. Swagger is kind of corny , but i liked it being a basketball junkie and Season 2 airs in a few weeks.

killers of the flower moon by scorcese and napoleon by ridley scott release later this year
