It eventually gets to be the same patterns, but it kept the game going for me long after completing the main story. Would be cool if this game offers it if there aren't enough side-missions to keep it going long-term. But yeah, open worlds eventually running out of things to do is something not many developers have solved. |

Been playing about a week total on my PS5 after a 3-week business trip without it. I did play HL on the XSS. While overall I prefer playing it on the PS5, I do find unlocking locks to be easier on the Xbox with it's stronger force feedback giving more tactile indication of the right positioning.
I did have an issue on the "In the Shadow of the Mine" mission with Sebastian. No issues getting through the mission itself but when [Show spoiler] I figured that the game probably wouldn't let me advance to the the next Keeper's test if I didn't go back and finish that quest first. While I have found the Merlin Trials to be repetitive, I am flying around to complete them so I have more gear slots. I do find some characters and dialogue rather tiresome. Why do I have to say the same thing every time I enter or leave Homesmeade? And do the Floo Flames have to talk every time you walk near them. I've decided to do more of the side quests as I get tired of hearing the people talk when you walk by them. While I like the look and feel of flying on a hippogryph or testral, I do find that landing them takes a lot longer than on a broom. I probably need to spend more time adding traits to my gear and I keep forgetting to use my [L1] button to use potions and plants during fights. I can usually win them without dying about 99% of the time but I'm probably just making it harder on myself without throwing the occasional cabbage, tenticula, and mandrake or using a Thunderbrew or Edura potion. This playthrough I am a mixed personality. When completing side quests, I don't demand more payment than whatever the person naturally gives, but I am learning and using the unforgiveable curses. I figure that I am injuring and killing hundreds of goblins, poachers, Ashwinders, spiders, mongrels, dugbogs, and inferiuses/inferiai (but they are technically already dead), so what's the harm in using excruciating pain or mind-control as a means to the same ends. |

But yes, in many open world games, including much of Horizon 2, for any of the side missions, I press skip and avoid most of the conversations that aren't interesting in some way. Thank goodness for the skip button in most games, as I just want to play a game most times, not watch a movie, like in MGSV or Death Stranding. If I sat and watched the dialog cutscenes in those games, I'd never have time to play with my limited spare time for games each week. Good to hear you're making good progress in the game. Thanks. Those consoles are also underpowered, so they're finding they have to adjust the game content more than they may have anticipated, while trying to make the game resolution as good as they can get it. 1080p would be ideal at 30 fps on pS4. That's good they're working hard on making it good before releasing it, with another delay (as long as it doesn't end up like Cyberpunk 2077 which had a ton of PS4 delays too only to find out they didn't even start working on the PS4 version game till a couple months before release). Especially in the days of releasing broken AAA games. |

Well they haven’t addressed the trophy bugs on PS5 so many people are stuck with 74/75 traits for collectables + the game is also bugged on PSN for the PS Plus in-game help.
If they are working on last gen consoles I guess it’ll be months before they even bother with fixes to these trophy/achievement bugs... if at all. |

![]() There are some bandit camps that don’t show up on the map and you really have to look hard for them. You are likely not seeing one which contains your last trait chest. |

Was odd seeing that butterfly. I checked it out, lead me to a chest with nothing in it. PS Plus still shows the 1 video for field pages near the greenhouse. Field page isn’t there. As per traits, PowerPyx even said before I played this game there is a random chance a bandit camp will not award you a trait. His suggestion is to reload a save if you don’t get one. ![]() I even did an interactive map on a website to double check I wasn’t missing any camps on my in-game map. |

Completed the main story this evening after having spent the past few days just doing a bunch of random side quests and random things. Still need to complete the remaining challenges. I'm at 95% overall (99% combat, 88% quests, 97% exploration, 93% field guides, and 100% room of requirement) and level 38 (almost to 39).
My tip for beating Ranrock in the final part of the final battle is to go in with lots of [Show spoiler]

GameStop tweeted that "only 25%" of people on Steam who played HL have completed the main quest line implying that the game is not good. HL has comparable completion percentages to other fantasy RPGs that have been out for much longer.

That sounds like a higher completion rate than most games in general tbh.

I'm always astonished looking at trophy completion rates for games that imply fewer than half (often much fewer) actually completed the single-player story. I expect such from COD games that have a massive multiplayer appeal despite still having substantial story development, and some, like Battlefront 2, where the single-player campaign seems an afterthought compared to the games multiplayer, but seeing the same with games where clearly their money is all about developing the story, some not even having multiplayer at all...

Has anyone else had trouble getting the Haunted Hogsmeade DLC to pop? Ive done everything required to activate the side quest but theres still no indication at the abandoned hut in Hogsmeade that the quest can begin. There's no marker on the map and the female house elf is not outside in front of it. It is winter in my game and I have finished the fire and vice side quest.

Sounds like HogLeg turned out to be a good game at launch and not a broken piece of junk like some other publishers would allow. WB delivered again.
Even Gotham Knights was mostly polished on launch. I played the game without a single update and got 6 hours into the game without any crashes or technical issues. Shadow and War of Mordor games? No issues. Arkham Batman games? No issues. WB Games care about getting it right at launch IMO. Great track record IMO. |
