Blu-ray Ninja

The game is running much better on PC since the latest patch so I've put quite a bit more time into it over the last few weeks. I don't think anything about HogLeg is particularly well done but I do think it's one of those "greater than the sum of its parts" type games. I just like the vibe and particularly enjoy exploring the castle and Hogsmeade. The overall feel of the game reminds me a lot of Fable 1/2, which is mostly a good thing. It continues to be a great game to play with my son in the evenings since I find I can only get through 1-2 missions at most before I start to lose interest.

This game is holding its price really well, the lowest I've seen is 50.99. Though this game was released at 69.99, so actually it has dropped by $20. Just waiting for the right price, not being a big HP fan, but like the look of the game's freedom.
The first HP movie felt like I was going back to school. Thankfully, the Deathly Hallows final film part 2 was very good and much better IMO. |

Trying to go for everything, and it’s negatively affecting my overall opinion of the game. Way, way, way too many collectibles. Too many unnecessary side quests/activities. I more than likely would have given this game an 8.5 out of 10, but with the bloated back end, I’d say now I’d put it closer to a 7 - 7.5. If you’re not a trophy hunter, I’d recommend skipping most of the side quests and activities and focusing only on the main quest and the relationship quests.

In Fallout 3, the side quests were just as fun as the main story quest, but in less immersive open world games, sometimes I'll just skip most of the side quests and just complete the game, then go back to exploring the map and maybe once in awhile do a side quest.
Completing games 100% doesn't mean anything to me anymore like it did when I was younger and had way more free time. Playing a game and getting some entertainment out of it is the main goal these days. |
