Cause it gets old quick. If anyones major complaint is price then they shouldn't be buying anime. Or coming here to ***** about it. People should be thankful that companies like Viz get us anime in the first place and for so cheap when in reality it could easily be a lot more.

That's fine, but trying to guilt people who can't afford it to pay those kinds of prices isn't cool.

For some people, it's not a case of being cheap, like you seem to imply, it's a case of that being far too big a commitment for them to make. For me to buy all of Hunter x Hunter at that price, I'd probably have to cut out all of the rest of my anime purchasing, and then some of my essential purchasing too.

And as a UK fan, I'd also have to factor in P&P and tax, since a UK pick-up looks unlikely.

"Screw people that can't afford it, as long as I can."

Wonder if you'll feel the same way when you get pushed out?

There's also Toonami and Crunchyroll. Also want to remind people that Viz Media is an American based company. If you're from a completely different country, then why would you even complain about pricing from an American-based company? Sounds silly to me.

If you can't afford it or deem it "too expensive", then why even mention the price in the first place? There has been plenty of stuff where I couldn't simply afford, however, I never felt the need to complain about pricing. The pricing never stops...

There are only a finite number of UK distributors. Universal only deals with NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan shows, so they won't have it. Same deal with Warner Bros. Manga Animatsu have said they aren't interested and that Kaze (whom they distribute for) hasn't inherited the rights from Viz. Funimation only distributes shows they also have US rights for. MVM can't have it, as they're reliant on disc-sharing with an Australian distributor and they probably couldn't afford to have it flop on them.

That leaves one UK distributor, Anime Limited, who's only other long-running shows are Eureka Seven, Fullmetal Alchemist and Twin Star Exorcists, so they're probably going to pass on it. The US release is likely to be our only option, but I guess I'm not allowed to comment on it, since it's not intended for me?

Just out of curiosity Nothing371 or Buzz201, what would be a fair price for this series?

Except I wasn't *****ing about pricing. Go back and read it. You guys are UNREAL. Like seriously. One other guy made one comment and look at you now.

I was already aware of everything you posted in your first passive reply. Believe it or not, some people have different perspectives on the matter. Such as, I'm already watching Hunter x Hunter for free on toonami. So I won't be rushing to buy the blus anytime soon. It is an excellent show and I love it. In fact, I've praised the show multiple times in this very thread.

Some of you really need to take a break from all this elitist nonsense. It is amazing how quickly you guys transfer back and forth from making high quality informative posts to making bigoted shitposts without even realizing it, like you own this forum or something. I'm surprised the mods put up with it. It doesn't make sense to me. The only reason it is allowed to go on is because the community is small. Making useful posts isn't a free ticket to be a jerk whenever you feel like it.

Like I've said before, people are allowed to have on-topic discussion as they please. You think your 10x as often frequent diatribes and opinionated posts aren't grating and annoying to others at times, too? Well guess again.

Spend less time going around the internet telling everybody how to think and act. You've got a lot of growing up to do. People are often more aware of your perspective than you think because of the GOOD posts that you, and others, make.

I also am not trying to take sides, but it does seem like Nothing gets ganged up on pretty often and unfairly at that. This is a discussion forum, so everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Not everyone has to agree on everything. I'm certainly not well off by any means. I buy Aniplex stuff when I can afford it, and I don't mind spending a lot on anime if it means supporting the industry. But if people want to save money and budget their purchases around less expensive releases, there is nothing wrong with that either. Cost of living is high, and we don't all have limitless disposable income, so each to their own I say. Let's not forget: we're all anime fans here!

I just said Viz wants to get paid. lol I mean I don't even like that series that much although it really is a decent one. I would like to get it but it might be a bit out of my range. I was going to say maybe they'll do collections down the line but then they aren't Funi. Speaking of collections anyone hear anything about the next Fairy Tail collection? I still need to get 4 and 5.

Switching gears...

How has your experience been pre-ordering from Funimation Store? Last thing I pre-ordered was the Cowboy Bebop vinyl set and I remember it went well. I did just pre-order the Highschool DxD S3 LE from them, and even though it came out yesterday, it is still sitting there "Processing". When have they delayed processing and shipping out items to arrive on time? Not a good look for them.

Funi teased the next collection on Twitter. They said stay tuned. https://mobile.twitter.com/FUNimatio...58124041031680

The one thing I'll say is that criticizing does not equal "whining", throwing that word around is a great way to set up a strawman argument. Good for those who can afford to spend as much as they can on a hobby, but price is an inherent factor in everything we consume. It is impossible to judge products in a vacuum, as every single person have a different perception of value. To you, early adopters, I thank for keeping the companies happy with initial shipment numbers but there's no need to shit on us late adopters. After all, we're consumers and fellow fans as well.
