Includes

The Blob (1958)

The Blob (1988)

Son Of Blob (1972 - SD Only)

The Blob (1958)

An innovative blend of '50s schlock sci-fi paranoia and good old fashioned teen delinquency shapes The Blob into a cult classic experience of mass proportions!

Moulding the genre with chills and thrills, director Irvin S. Yeaworth (Dinosaurus!) places a troup of troubled teenagers into the middle of mayhem when a mysterious creature from another planet lands in their small township and spreads itself across the landscape in a gelatinous state of lingering menace. Determined to warn the public of impending doom, young Steve Andrews (action hero Steve McQueen in his first starring role) charges his classic Plymouth Cranbrook convertible into action and rises to the impossible blood-curdling challenge.

The Blob (1988)

In a tiny California town, high school students Brian (Kevin Dillon, Entourage), Meg (Shawnee Smith, SAW) and Paul (Donovan Leitch Jr, Glory) discover an unusual gelatinous substance with the ability to remove flesh off any living creatures in its path. The deadly blob-like matter infiltrates the town's sewer system and continues to grow exponentially, threatening the lives of unsuspecting townspeople.A grisly and inspired remake of the 1958 Steve McQueen B-Movie classic, with an acute angle on horror, The Blob is directed by Chuck Russell (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3) and adapted by Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption).

Son of Blob (1972)

A technician brings a frozen specimen of the original Blob back from the North Pole. When his wife accidentally defrosts the thing, it terrorizes the populace, including the local hippies, kittens, and bowlers.

It was either going to be Madman/Via Vision or Umbrella. The price was a dead giveaway. I was swaying towards Madman though, as Simon usually comments very quickly after a thread is open if the title is coming from Umbrella.

*Adds "The Blob" to my "To Get" list*

Glad to see it's getting a local release. Haven't seen the film in a long time and would like to re-visit it.

God, I love Umbrella! Their work on NOTLD alone was enough to make me a fan. They're really starting to pump out some goodness. Good gravy!

I hope this thing gets some special features.

Would have loved to have had this in a LE with the original, like Umbrella did with NOTLD, but I understand the rights are a lot more difficult for this so I'm still chuffed.

I very much doubt it. We can always have that hope, but I wouldn't get any hopes up.

I bought the German mediabook. I'm not a big fan of its artwork so i might spring for this release. It would be great if it had a few extras, the German release only had a trailer as far as i remember.

I got the same one, and it's put me off buying any more mediabooks from Germany. Black and white photos and low quality printing.. just looks cheap and nasty.

I don't mind the cover image though.
