Great to see UHD staying in the double digits for so long.

Speaking of which, I just crossed paths today with a pre-analog sunset Sony Blu-ray player, and I just happened to have this itching curiosity to see what would playing a Blu-ray disc on a Sony Trinitron CRT TV via Component Video (YPbPr) look like. I do know of a nearby Trinitron which I have easy access to, all the obstacle inbetween would be bringing the player over to it and getting some YPbPr video cables (which I never used for anything at all ever before, except for the Wii. Composite, and S-Video briefly at the end, reigned supreme in my household until HDMI inevitably took over in the late 2010s).

Anyway, I am happy to say that I placed a couple of big (relative to my budget) orders this week for an assorted selection of Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, so it feels good to say that I have made a contribution, as small as it may be, to the charts for the week of July 10-16.

They actually look ok on a 4K tv. If you get a good label like Vinegar Syndrome, DVD can look most acceptable.

I still buy a handful occasionally in-between my 4K disc purchases!

Default Dem's Da Breaks

DVD sales are finally beginning to double down on double digit losses as bottom of the barrel brokesters begin the belated transition to streaming.

It's a shame about physical media, and given that the world economy is on a road to nowhere, one can only wonder how much longer boutiques, big ticket box sets, steel books & swag can prop up the Blu-ray & UHD niche.

Well, we can dream.

As Boris Johnson shared before announcing his intention to ride off into the sunset, "...dem's da breaks."

I'll mourn for physical media only if it actually dies and goes away. Until then I celebrate it.

His plan is to announce its death every year until it comes true. A similar tactic to the fun loving Zoetmb.

Tedious as shit.

If only it was just once per year; he parrots this crap far more often than that.
