Got my friends dvd boxset from cex, it was the newer one not the 15th year edition as said and no booklet. Can’t complain for it being a tenner and the discs were all looking good.

Might get Ghostbusters afterlife for 20 pounds since it’s newer it should be in good condition

Opened it up and discovered that they had stuck the items sticker on the poster. Literally, stuck right on the poster with no way of getting it off cleanly.

What was even going through their mind when they thought of this? I can't compute how idiotic this move is.
So to follow up on this. I took it back to CEX. They couldn't get their head around it and refunded me the money. They said that if I order it again, I won't get the one I just handed in. I took their word for it and purchased it again. Within days, my purchased arrived. What they had done now was sent me the item but without the outer box, poster or booklet. It was just the film. I knew it had been taken out of the limited edition box as it still mentioned the booklet on the back.

Got ghostbusters afterlife 4K today, only for it to be the first ghostbusters discs inside. So annoyed, got to send it back now.

Some great finds today - found Der Golem mit slipcover für £12, and the Norwich branch have several copies of Animal Factory for only £3.50.

Bit annoyed that’s this has happened three times now. Instead of the 4K amazing Spider-Man, they give me the blu ray with enhanced 4K or something. I wouldn’t mind if it was nearer the same price but it’s like 5 pound cheaper than the 4K. Think I’ll stick to eBay.

Tell me, the 'adult' DVD's on CeX.....things like Flesh Gordon etc....are they all cut and soft.

Asking for a friend. Honest.

CEX wouldn’t legally be allowed to carry any R18s, despite what their name is a homonym of, so all they could get away with is nudity. But I came across Almost Human in the “Adult” section for some reason.

You wouldn't just be using Goo Gone on the sticker.

Generally most of their adult fare has more cuts than Kill Bill's Crazy 88 segment, so it's best avoided. But you may find some hard to find "erotica" amongst the dreck.

Things like Flesh Gordon are uncut (it's mostly frolicking with the odd explicit shot), but that was severely cut back in the day so the producers' could avoid prosecution in the US, as far as I know the original footage has never been released as it probably went into the collection of one of LA's finest! and is rotting in their basement or garage.

CeX can't sell non rated BBFC titles either, but they do slip through the cracks (unlike their "hardcore" titles) from time to time. But I imagine if someone did bring in a pile of R18 titles they'd never see the shelves.

Yeah it's well annoying. Remember the days when shipping was free or when you only had to pay for one item and could order a bunch.

The other annoying part in addition to them increasing the postage to £1.95 was changing the free postage threshold from £50 to £100 per item.

I’ve gotten three steelbooks from them so far and two of them have been in great condition so I’m pretty happy with that. I’m looking for the welcome to raccoon city steel but I don’t see a page for it on cex. Is it under a new name? Or do they simple not sell them?

I believe they will only have a page/ listing for something if somebody has traded it in. I've traded in stuff before and they've had to send off for a price as I guess nobody had traded it in until I did. Usually new releases that go under the radar.

I recently bought the Daniel Craig 4K Bond set via their website. After putting the order, I was suddenly dreading the condition it would arrive in. Fortunately, it turned up in almost mint condition, which surprised me!

CEX Norwich has a copy of The Guinea Pig for only a fiver, however I passed on it as it’s missing the booklet.

They usually keep the booklets with the disc behind the counter. Worth asking.
