I wouldn't think so. That's the one banner I could not stand. Thankfully none of my Pixar Blus have it. I don't even mind the Double Play Banner compared to the Disney Classics.

JB always seems rather notorious with how they price the Disney classics on blu, as if they are some sort of "premium" product (and we know how they've even treated the Diamond line lately, they are anything but). I get the majority of my Disney fix courtesy of Amazon these days, not only are they cheaper, but you generally get nicer packaging and no horrendous ratings logo or "Double Play" banners - if you're lucky you may still get a copy with a slipcover (I have the three-disc edition and the slipcover is rather nice):
http://www.amazon.com/s?url=search-a...+tramp+blu-ray The only Disney blu's I've bought locally this year are Pocahontas (out much earlier than US), Great Mouse Detective and Pete's Dragon (out earlier, plus a few dollars cheaper than Amazon), Alice in Wonderland [live-action] and Nightmare Before Christmas (BOGOF). I would really love to buy more from my local stores, but they make it so hard when the prices are pushed up as high as they can - for example, my local JB is selling the 1-disc edition of John Carter for $40 (and I believe $58 is the set price for the 3D version). |

You guys are just looking at them at the wrong time.
When they're not on sale they go upto or pretty close to the RRP. But when they are, it's about half the RRP. Right now they've got the BOGOF sale, so they've taken the individual sale prices away, but with another product it is effectively $10-$20 each. For the DE line, that's about as cheap as you'll get. But you're probably better off at eBay, where you could grab them for $14ish. But all other titles experience RRP price cuts over the years. For example, The Princess and the Frog hovered around $30 (like Tangled is now) until this year where it dropped to half that. Pocahontas started off at $40, but is already cut down to $30 max (but I got it for $14 thanks to a BOGOF). Couple that with heavy discounts and you can expect to get all of them for less than $13. Disney sales coincide with JB/Target 20% off sales every couple of months or so. John Carter will be $13 in a year or two, just like Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Tron are now. Disney pricing is pretty predictable ![]() Regarding new releases, I got: Home on the Range The Great Mouse Detective The Rescuers / Down Under The Aristocats John Carter (digital copy) 101 Dalmatians ...for a total of $92. That's less than $16 each. Not bad for new releases. So it's really not that bad ![]() Last edited by Victurtle; 10-23-2012 at 07:43 AM. |

But Lady and the Tramp is all out of stock in every store around the area, and the one time I saw one, they didn't have any other titles I wanted to go with it though. Target has sales on classic Disney titles so often (every 2-3 months pretty much), it's not that bad if you manage to snip in at the right time. I don't think I've paid over $25 for a classic Disney title (exceptions being The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast when they first came out for a lil' more), unless they were back in the vault. |
