Default What concerts do you recommend on Blu?

I was browsing reviews here and other sites and have become interested in buying some concert blu's. I'm really tempted to buy the Foo Fighters Blu-ray that was just reviewed on here since I'm a pretty big fan of them and maybe The Police concert Blu-ray. Any other good recommendations?

Rush - Snake and Arrows. Rush is a great band, and other then a few minor nit picks with the presentation with camera angles, the Blu is perfect.

I personally like Yes and their Blu-ray at Montreux and also the Moody Blues live recording.

Not really a concert but studio performances, but you must experience Legends of Jazz.

Amazing disc!

Very surprised at how great the Moody Blues disc is. Nice interview with them on it too. Last Waltz is a very nice transfer as well. Elton 60 Live At MSG was great too. I was less impressed with the Alice Cooper disc. He seems to rush through the songs and it seemed more contrived, like he is sick of playing many of his hits. While all of the above artists no doubt are too, they disguise it much better on those discs.

You absolutely cannot go wrong with Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live at Radio City Music Hall.

Reference picture and reference 24/96 5.1 audio.

Even if you're not a fan of DMB's music, when it's just D+T on stage it's a completely different show.

Yes the Dave Mattews is great..The NIN Beside you in Time is fabulous also...

I keep bugging them, but, MUSE has yet to release HAARP on Blu-Ray...it was filmed in High Def...you'd think they would want to release it...but!!! That will get my highest recommendation when it comes out.

Default Help! I only have so much Xmas $$!

I could use some advice.

The Christmas money is coming in and I would love to add one concert BD to my humble library. I own the Police and Dave Matthews and Tim R. concerts. These shows seem to rank up there in most viewers opinions so I'm afraid I have been a bit spoiled. I'm looking for a concert that won't be a let down. I know that everyone has their own tastes, but I'd appreciate some help picking my next BD show. Here are the finalists (in no particular order):
  • John Mayer
  • Rush (I'm a fan, but I've heard so many mixed reviews that I hesitate...)
  • AC/DC
  • Foo Fighters
  • Elton John
  • Justin Timberlake

Is there another must-own that I have missed?

Cheers!

have not seen my ZZTop yet so not sure how good it is

Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same it is a cross between a concert and a movie

I'm quite partial to the Elton one, astounding PQ with a great 24/48 5.1 PCM track - but you have to keep in mind the old boy's 60 so he doesn't hit the high notes as much as he used to nor is he as clear with the lyrics.

Nevertheless a very cool concert...and I never knew that Elton had never played "Empty Garden" outiside of NYC...which brought a tear to my eye because I've been a huge fan of John Lennon since I was 7 when he was shot.

Are you serious!!? Any chance of Tommy being shown in complete form? I'll be getting it either way.

When it comes to The Who - I wanna see Albert Hall 2000 and Kids Are Alright on Blu the most.

As far as a recommendation - if you like Foo Fighters, the Live at Wembley disc is awesome. So is Shakira's Oral Fixation Tour Blu-Ray.

The Who at Kilburn 1977 is for serious Who fans only.

Nine Inch Nails - Beside You In Time is quite amazing.

Robbie Williams - Live at the Royal Albert Hall - crisp image, great sound. Was a great surprise for me.

These are very different shows, though, one is industrial rock and the other swing..
