Default Replacement driver for eD A2-300

Hi, I'm thinking about trying a different driver in this sub and I'm wondering if this Infinity car audio driver would be a suitable replacement? Would there be any modifications I would have to do? Thanks in advance! http://www.crutchfield.com/S-dvd4COH...0w.html?tp=111

I say as long as the ohm ratings are the same (which I'm sure they are) and rms ratings are good, GO FOR IT MAN!!!
I've got an old @$$ MTX PSW101B that the driver had always been weak on, took it out and replaced with a KICKER COMP...that thing hits now!

My choice is the Dayton Audio RSS315HF-4 12" Reference HF Driver. I have one 12" version and two 15" versions of this driver in myDIY subwoofers. They are excellent drivers and come in 4 ohm and 8 ohm versions.

There are many other home audio subwoofer drivers. Check them out.

Depending in what driver ED put in your a2. The 1260W should be much better and at sonic it is $65. I have 2 but did not yet try one in my a2 box. The a2 has a pretty decent hump around 50-60hz and after modeling the 1260w in its box it looks like it might be a little wost. But I can say that the 1260w is a great value. I have been berry impressed running the 2 I have off of the. Lt200 amps. I hope to soon have 2 more and will build custom boxes for the rear of my room. I say get the 1260w and see what you think. But my guess is you will be suprised buy how it sounds.

I'd like to get that Dayton driver, but I was hoping not to spend that much. I think the Infinity driver would be good, and it has pretty good Xmax and seems pretty efficient. The reason I'm replacing the driver is, that it bottoms out quite a bit, and I bought this sub in June 2011, which makes me think since it was towards the end for them, it probably is the Dayton classic driver that is in my sub. Never the less, I don't want to spend more than $100 on a driver.

Mine has the Dayton classic and it does the same thing. I can tell you unless you are getting crazy stupid with the gain and volume the 1260w will indeed fix your problem. I honestly don't know of anything for $65 can touch it. It would be worth even a $100. Throw one in there and don't look back.

I put a JL 12W3V3-4 in my A2-300 and it sounds amazing, but you aren't likely to find one for $100 or less, but if you do I would jump on it.

I went this route and am very happy I did. Driver was easy to install and Sub finally plays like it should. No more crapping out on scenes with heavy bass. Always thought it was the amp but it turns out it was the crappy driver all along. Thanks!

Did this upgrade with the Dayton as well, and added some Dynamat and some OC 703 inside the enclosure. They sound downright awesome now.
