My biggest pet peeve would have to be "loudmouths". Not just people who feel the need to constantly scream and shout instead of speaking normally (or people who use their "outside voice" both outside and inside), but also people who it seems, everything they do has to be announced to the world. Like opening a window and cranking the stereo to max. Or squealing their car tires out of the driveway/road at 3 AM on a Monday night and waking the entire neighborhood. God it makes my skin crawl.

Like Jack Horner in Boogie Nights - when he's asked if he wants bigger speakers since the ones he has won't play loud enough (or something like that), he says "I don't want it loud. I want it mellow.
M e l l o w". That's me, pretty much.

I can't stand the use of the phrase, "back in the day."

People who aimlessly walk around in shops with absolutely no purpose, they get under your feet.

The classic being when they walk in front of you when you are about to pick something up from a shelf then they stand there between you and what you wanted totally oblivious to your existence or what they have just done.

They are in their own little world and that is all that matters them. WAKE THE F**K UP!!!

Your explanation couldn't have put it more succinctly

I've been trying to explain my disdain for people to my better half for years, she just doesn't get it. Now she gets it

That's even worse cause it's the title of a movie. If anything you should read the title and it would help you realize.

Regarding phones, IMO it depends on who you are with and the situation. When I go to a cafe with my fiancée we don't talk much. We talk all time, we don't need to talk to each other every second we are together, so instead we often use that time to enjoy each others company in comfortable silence while we are relaxing doing something else, such as reading the news, or visiting this forum etc. While we are having a coffee my fiancée sometimes even uses the time to catch up on shows she missed during the week, she puts in her headphones and streams content recorded at home straight to her phone.

I'm not just being a pill, but people with pet peeve's is my pet peeve IF it's they go out of their way to make a big deal out of something that's nothing, and are rude to ppl. First of all, if it's not a big deal and you make it one, you are just showing your inability to deal with imperfection. It's immature, and you should probably save the meltdown for WWIII.

People that place bets on Final Jeopardy that have them win by $1. Can you be more of a douchebag? The person in the lead on tonight's episode made a bet like this, but ended up losing. Alex rubbed it in saying "oh too bad, you would have won by a dollar", which was pretty satisfying to watch.

i can't count the number of times i've seen stuff like that out in public.

that's why there's a rule in my family. when we're together for...whatever, (birthday, anniversary, just out to eat, etc.) the phones go away until everyone is done eating or we all get up from the table.

Thank you for this.

It is truly amazing at how much people are addicted to their phones these days. No matter the occasion, that they can not put them down for even a second because they are always texting, tweeting or looking up something on the internet.

The scene with the girl and when she was out with her friends at lunch I could really relate to a lot. My ex used to be terrible (still is I'm sure though we don't talk anymore...) when I would be trying to tell him something he would be fooling with his phone.

That's a good rule to have. Because being with your family should be the most important thing. That's awesome.

I don't like it when people just sit in their vehicle while the engine is idling/running. Most of the time, they are either eating, talking on the cellphone or using the AC. If that is the case, they should just turn the engine off. And in the case of the AC, they should just roll the windows down. Not only are they wasting gas, but polluting the environment as well.

Overly boisterous people and when people constantly blow their nose in public instead of going to a washroom.

People who can't park in a parking spot properly, or who park too close to my vehicle for no other reason than being stupid.

People who eat and it sounds like they are stirring a huge pot of mac & cheese in their mouth. Gross!
