I'm on vacation so can't check the region, but I think this is a German autoconversion of a French movie, it just happens to have gotten a release in Australia.

My recollection is that the 3D is pretty non-existent and I certainly wouldn't recommend a purchase.

According to the reviews found in:
https://www.amazon.de/Dead-Shadows-U...dp/B009P8LC64/

it is a bad 3D autoconversion.

During the last two trips to Germany I have bought lot's of 3D blu-rays for 1€ each. (To users who live in Germany: I've bought the blu-rays from Saturn )

It's been very time consuming to check all the discs and gather all the necessary info, but I'm finally ready!

ALL THESE ARE GERMAN 3D AUTOCONVERSIONS: (English soundtrack included)

- 2035: Forbidden Dimensions (2013) aka The Forbidden Dimensions / German title: Mad Jack - Travelling Forbidden Dimensions. Cut, around 1 min 50 secs missing! FSK18 / Running time 1:24:27.
- 666: The Beast (2007) / German title: Der Antichrist - FSK 18 / Running time 1:28:35.
- 6 Guns (2010) - Should be Unrated version. FSK16 / Running time 1:35:36.
- Age of Dinosaurs (2013) - FSK16 / Running time 1:28:23
- American Poltergeist 2 (2013) aka The Poltergeist of Borley Forest aka You Will Love me - FSK18 / Running time 1:43:08. Disc includes: American Poltergeist (2015) - FSK18 / Running time 1:19:41
- Atlantic Rim (2013) aka Attack from Beneath / German title: Attack from the Atlantic Rim - FSK16 / Running time 1:25:28

- Bates Haunting, The (2012) aka The Haunting of Bates Motel - Cut, 27 seconds missing. FSK18 / Running time 1:17:07. Disc includes: Cannibal (2010) / German title Menschenfresserin). French movie, not English friendly! Cut, around 3 minutes missing. FSK18 / Running time 1:44:01
- Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys (2014) - FSK18 / Running time 1:26:51. Disc includes: P51 Dragon Fighter (2014)
- Boost (2016) - FSK18 / Running time 1:34:47
- Dead the Damned and the Darkness, The (2014) / German title: Tom Sawyer vs. Zombies - FSK18 / Running time 1:30.13. Disc includes: Stiletto (2008) - Cut, 11 minutes and 38 seconds missing! FSK18 / Running time 1:27:12
- Flight World War II (2015) - FSK18 / Running time 1:25:15
- Ghost Shark (2013) - FSK18 / Running time 1:27:03. Disc includes: Mega Python vs. Gatoroid (2011) FSK18 / Running time 1:30:43

- Playing with Dolls 1 & 2 (2015 & 2016) - Cut! Part 1 is missing 2 minutes 5 seconds, Part 2 is missing 3 minutes 27 seconds. FSK18 / Running times 1:23:09 & 1:17:31
- Supercapitalist (2012) - FSK16 / Running time 1:42:23. Might be slightly better than usual German autoconversions. Just a tiny little bit.

This can be added to the German autoconversions list:
- Road Wars (2015) FSK18
https://www.amazon.de/Road-Wars-Will...dp/B00V5RPSU4/

It's another useless "3D" autoconversion, and a bad movie as well.

Are the region-restricted? Seems like most of the autoconversions I've seen are. My partner's a huge fan of The Asylum and we picked up a few Sharknados just to have for her collection, but she's disappointed not all our players will play them. If they were region-free we'd probably get more since they're so cheap (especially when they have bonus movies).

They converted the 2008 Journey that was originally shot in 3-D?! Ouch.

The Asylum shot three 3-D movies (Sex Pot, Haunting of Winchester House, and A Haunting in Salem), but it seems like the Germans autoconverted all the rest of them too. (At a convention a few years ago, I asked the David Michael Latt and David Rimawi if they planned to do more 3-D movies since 3-D had gotten more popular and they said no.)

No, the Germans converted the cheapo cash-in version that was released at the same time - copyright laws being what they are The Asylum didn't even need to change the title: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journe...-to-video_film)

Sorry, I don't yet have region A player, so I can't confirm if they are region free.

Correct. That release belongs in the English-unfriendly thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=302145

I have to say, that's almost cheap enough to buy it just to see the 3D.

Default Can anyone confirm if these titles are 3D autoconversions

Any comments on the below German 3D titles I recently bought but haven't watched before being aware of autoconversions appreciated.

CARGO: 1 star review on Amazon by 'spieltkeinerolle' would suggest it's auto-conversion.

RAMPAGE (Uwe Boll): 2 star review on Amazon by 'Thomas Naefe' would suggest it's auto-conversion. Also perhaps a pretty nasty movie

LOCKED DOWN: 1 star review on Amazon by 'The Ron' & 'Ironhide' would suggest it's auto-conversion. Also perhaps a pretty nasty movie

DAYBREAKERS: 1 star review on Amazon by 'Hebinder' & 'Scottish Highlands' would suggest it's auto-conversion.

MOJIN: Have read only good reports of 3D

THE WARRIORS GATE: Have read only good reports of 3D

Also does anyone know which studio's are doing the auto conversions, & is there a list of the auto conversions titles so we can avoid them.

I'd prefer to just sell the autoconversions that are sealed rather than 'testing them.

Also which country are people buying Venom 3D from?

Mojin: The Lost Legend (2015) is not autoconversion. The 3D is very good. It also has changing aspect ratio, so it is a "IMAX version".

Anyone chasing 3D blu's from Hong Kong, these 2 sellers appear to be cheapest
DDDHouse: Cheapest postage seemed to be ordering one at a time.
YesAsia: Cheapest price was buying 8 movies with Popcorn icon for bulk deal

also purchased from ebay seller PwaiJohnnyMovie & Bad Panda

HK 3D titles I bought were
Call of Heroes
Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribes
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2
Journey to the West: Demons strike Back
Mermaid
Monkey King 3
Rise of the Legend
Snow Girls & the Dark Crystal
Taking of Tiger Mountain
The Four 2
The Four 3
Seventh Son (Hollywood movie)
Thousand Faces of Dunjia
White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom
Wolf Warriors

All are supposedly English friendly

CARGO: it's an auto-conversion.

RAMPAGE (Uwe Boll): it's an auto-conversion.

LOCKED DOWN: it's an auto-conversion, and cut too. My review on Amazon:

If you are thinking of ordering the German FSK18 import on 3D blu ray you might like to know that it's a very poor 3D conversion - there's a scene early on with the prisoners standing in their orange uniforms and the uniforms are all floating unnaturally on top of the people - it looks dreadful.

I can forgive that though. What I can't forgive is that the film shows clear signs of having been censored, with all the key violent moments cut away from or cut altogether. German censors are among the most brutal in the world, so it goes without saying that the film is worthless as a result.

I only paid about £2.50 but still feel ripped off.

DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION OF THE FILM. If you must buy it, buy the uncut 2D version. There may well be an uncut 3D version out there, but this is not it, and the 3D is so poor that I wouldn't recommend hunting it down either.

DAYBREAKERS: it's an auto-conversion and has forced subtitles with the English audio.

MOJIN: excellent 3D

THE WARRIORS GATE: decent 3D

Is there a list of the auto conversions titles so we can avoid them: yes, on post #6 of this thread

Also which country are people buying Venom 3D from?: Lots of different countries. Check post #1 on the Venom thread.

If ordering to the UK, use DDDHouse. Ordering from YesAsia will result in you having to pay customs and handling charges.

I did read in one of the threads that the subtitles are removable on Daybreakers with the use of the blu-ray player remote control, just not via the disc menu.

Yes, DDDHouse generally the cheapest to Australia, & cheapest postage is buying 1 at a time. So far Australia only targeting GST at point of sale to eBay & Amazon in relation to blu-rays.

Will just sell Cargo, Locked Down & Rampage without watching, with the latter two being cut as you mentioned. Many thanks for your reply & contributions to Bluray.com Great to see other people love 3D too.

Have you seen the German 3D BD of The Final Countdown (Kirk Douglas)? I've read it was lousy (auto conversion?) and yet someone else said it looked pretty good and had 7.1 sound like the more expensive 2D only version.

Yes or no would have been sufficient....

I went ahead and ordered it anyway. Several said it looked decent in 3D in the review section at Amazon. It was about half the price of that 2D only re-release.

Sorry I didn't answer as I have no idea. I originally thought any exclusive 3D title released in Germany must be an auto conversion but Warrior's Gate 3D is exclusive to Germany & reviews suggest it is proper 3D. If you're happy with the 2D at whatever price you're paying & 3D would be a bonus then wouldn't think you can go wrong as haven't read anything negative about 2D viewing on the 3D discs, (barring lack of English subtitles, & over zealous censorship).
