Default popping sound from sub.

It wont do it all the time some movies when I have it up loud when the wife is gone don't know if I should get a new cable ? I hope its not dying on me. I have the output at 50% on the sub and 0 gain on the receiver .

Thanks

If the volume on the subwoofer is 50%, then it's too loud. That may not be the reason why it's clipping but, it's a possibility. Have you ever calibrate your speakers, and what is the main volume level on the receiver?

I ran audyssey and it said to put it at 50% ? it said it was 29 feet away when its only 16 feet away and it put it at -12 . I did mess with it after maybe I shouldn't have .As far as the main volume level what were you asking how loud did I have it at the time ? It seem to only do it on certain movies when I turn it up but never happened yet playing music.

Thanks for your help

I redid the audyssey tossed in john wick 2 and it sounded good didn't crank it to loud the wife was sleeping but loud enough . It set my mains and center to large so its cuts out the sub on the radio only stereo signal? guess I can switch them to small while listening to music and back to large on movies. sub and speakers sounded good on the movie.
