I would pay the price if it was the original. Not going to pay 7.99 for the here and now. Never really liked the new one to be honest. Why oh why would they not release the classic version first?

I agree, I didn't pay the 7.99 either, I tried it out though...on the info page though it says
"Check out the other exciting EA games:
Top-selling iPhone games like: TETRIS®, Scrabble®, YAHTZEE® Adventures, Sudoku and Spore™ Origins
Coming Soon: Need for Speed™ Undercover and Will Wright’s SimCity™

Great iPod titles like: MONOPOLY®, Scrabble®, TETRIS®, The Sims™ Pool, The Sims™ Bowling, The Sims™ DJ, Sudoku, Mahjong and Mini Golf
Coming Soon: Trivial Pursuit™"

Hopefully EA will release more versions. The Here and Now edition is pretty enjoyable nevertheless

I saw that. Gives me some hope. I hope (lol) that the original they come out with has just as good graphics and game play as the here and now one.

The Monopoly it is referring to in the second paragraph is for the click-wheel iPods.

they don't sell click-wheel iPod games in the App Store, do they? because I know that Tetris, Scrabble and Yahtzee are in there, and from that paragraph I would think they are bringing the Sims games to the iPhone & iPod...

Default Microsoft releases first iPhone application, Seadragon

http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/14/m...ion-seadragon/

Quote:
After some rumblings this past March, Microsoft has now officially joined the iPhone development community with Seadragon Mobile, a free app that lets you "infinite zoom" gigapixel-sized images. Although Seadragon is a Silverlight application on the desktop, Microsoft isn't bringing Silverlight to the iPhone, so don't get your hopes up -- this is probably just some AJAX magic. We're itching to see if the company has any more apps in the pipeline -- we'll wish for an Office editor, but expect a Minesweeper variant.

I tried this out. I didn't find it quite as useful as the Shop Savvy app that they have for the G1. 2/3 items I tried didn't work, and one kind of worked. Hopefully they keep working on this, though, as it's a great concept.

Been hooked on the Stanza app, I wasn't aware that I could download free books.

put the following link into safari and you can download direct to the device

http://www.drinkmalk.com/stanza/

Has a bunch of books, plus you can convert pdf files and such over to the stanza format. I just started reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas again, very cool.

I haven't read all 25 pages to see if this has been mentioned... but Orb is available in the app store. It's much like TVersity. You install the Orb server on your home pc where your media is stored, then install the Orb client app on your iPhone.... voila.... access to ALL of the media on your home PC while on the road.
