Sorry if this has been asked, but are there any captions or subs on this title that are generated on the UK/int'l release?

Default Casino HD-DVD

I would upgrade to the 4k bluray, but I still have my HD-DVD copy and it looks awesome. One of the best transfers in my whole physical media HD library.

You have to get a bit nuttier than this for all of us to be sure you are joking! Maybe go with Laser Disc and CRT next time.

There are some instances where the HD DVD is better than the Blu-ray, such as The Sting. The HD DVD is bitrate starved but the film grain is intact, and the BD is a wipe job. But by and large there is little reason to hold on to such transfers.

Yeah I've read that about certain movies/transfers, but I never got into that format. Kills me that a favorite of mine like The Sting has a better transfer out there that I can't watch. (Or I guess I could, but I can't be arsed to track down a player and the disc... I'll just continue hoping for a UHD, and Universal has been surprisingly generous with their catalog so far anyway.)

Yes, I would have to believe The Sting will be a UHD BD title at some point.
