I am really liking the artwork for the standard slip so I am probably just going to get that since I have the Best Buy bd steelbook with the door on it. The only way I opt for the steelbook is if for some reason it looks amazing in person.

Hard to imagine this is all they could achieve after the classy job on both the SteelBook and the standard 4K editions for 2001.

Jack Nicholson is more expensive than Keir Dullea, that's why 2001 got the cover it did while The Shining gets this.

It's not rocket science (no 2001 pun intended).

Definitely underwhelming but not the worse neither. Regular slip cover isnt spectacular either.

People will never be happy with a SteelBook for The Shining unless you have Jack's face on it and that's never gonna happen. Without having his face on there they will continue churning out these crap designs. Give up.

Why is Jackís face never going to be on the cover?

Because somebody probably has to pay him for it.

If Criterion did this art, people would be shouting, "Bravo!" This is an awesome Steelbook. Hats off, I says.
