And this year's winner for the coveted "Most Half-Assed Blu-Ray Review" award goes to: https://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/7344...ZZpmiNQweEMH5g

Wow. This guy loves the video quality so much he categorized it twice. Completely disregards the 2.0 track nor mention pitching on the 5.1

At least with the "Platoon" review Larson gave us like three paragraphs for video...this guy doesn't even have a whole paragraph.

Video: It's 1080p. That's good, right? That's enough pixels, right?
Audio: Um, it's in DTS, and I like it being in DTS because I'm a blind (or deaf in this case) fanboy...
Extras: This ones actually good. Iz good.

Overall: I lik film, good blue-Rei.

... That's what his review boils down to. No details. Looks like he wrote it in 5 minutes.

Okay. Me too. That's just the thing I needed to see to brighten up my day.

But in all seriousness, the extras seem good. Shame they DGAF when it comes to QC in other areas... I want the film, but I don't wanna support Shout, and I want a well encoded version... Arrow, Eureka, Indicator, hell even Second Sight (do a remastered BD in that case), a UK BD with a David M encode and correct 5.1 mix will do (even though I won't watch in 5.1 as it wasn't the original mix).

It looks like it is in stock again at most places I checked (Family Video, Bullmoose, Amazon,etc..) so now Family Video can hopefully get mine and others shipped out soon!

I saw this in the theater when I was a kid. It must have had an impact because it's one of those when you see as a kid you never forget. I remember being pretty scared during "The Crate" story.

How do they justify these insane prices? I don’t know if it’s just me but I can’t see myself ever spending $30-$35 on a single movie. I just bought a box set with 10 movies on it for $40 for instance yet they want to charge this much for 1 movie.

Amazing what age does to perspective. I saw it in the theaters when I was 14 and was also scared by the "Crate" monster. Now I'm pushing 50, and I find Ed Harris' dancing more frightening than the "Crate", the cockroaches, or anything else in the film.
