Can you really say TRON is a sci-fi flop? The movie ended up with a sequel in theaters, an animated show on one of their channels, a game on the pc, and another movie being made for theaters. For a sci-flop, that's an awful lot of new/newish content. I don't know about you, but if something flops they usually don't follow it up with more content. Even years after. YEARS.

Well…in the next five years we’ll see what Iger does.

Politically neutral, willing to cut scenes for foreign countries, place money over agenda, make nice with DeSantis.

Tell offended employees what Netflix told their employees and what Elon Musk told his employees

Bring Tim Allen back for a Lightyear sequel

Oh I guess we’ll see…

Didn’t someone once say Republicans buy shoes too and of course I know who said this GOAT.

Yepper. Neutral is the way to go. He knows this. It cannot be argued that his intentions appear to be the right moves. And yes, any offended employees are free to hit the job market, LOL. Bye. Maybe Twitter is hiring…..oh, wait….

If we could just get Musk to buy Disney. That would be something!

Disney’s Strange World ended its first week with $13.8M, a running total of $20.6M; the pic was 5th yesterday with an estimated $396K.

I agree with most of what you have written here. Today's parents are terrible -- and today's children will suffer from them. The future doesn't look bright to me....

If you think “politically neutral” means “no more gay characters,” you’re probably going to be disappointed.

“I think there is a misperception what ‘politics’ is. I think that some of the subjects that have proven to be controversial, as it relates to Disney, has been branded ‘political,’ but I don’t necessarily believe they are. I don’t think when you are telling stories and attempting to be a good citizen of the world that that’s political. That’s just not how I view it.”

"This company has been telling stories for 100 years, and those stories have had a meaningful, positive impact on the world, and one of the reasons they have had a meaningful, positive impact is because one of the core values of our storytelling is inclusion and acceptance and tolerance, and we can't lose that.”

Again, we'll see

I have no problem with gay characters but some Parents do.

I didn't think Lightyear was a good movie not because of that gay kiss but because it just wasn't a good movie.

I didn't like Bros either mainly because I hated Billy Eichner's character in the film. The other gay characters were a lot of fun but to watch but Billy Eichner for two hours yuck. I only mention Bros because Billy made such an enormous big deal about this being a big ol' gay movie.

China and some Muslim countries have a problem with gay characters...again we'll see.

my main point...money is money and in the end money always wins.

and Disney please make a Lightyear movie with Tim Allen and Joan Cusack! Yee Haw!

Iger was political in his previous tenure, why would he be any different now?

Now, if Ike Perlman were put in charge of Disney then we might see what you'd like to see, as he is a house of mouse bigwig whose only agenda is to make money.

Sadly, the guy who said Republicans buy shoes also revealed that he used to hate an entire race. Of course, he kept that under wraps until after he was a runaway success. Disney tried that approach and it hasn't worked as well for them as it did for Jordan.

Well - are we sure that the previous generations parents would have done much better when you consider the extreme differences we have today? Its easy to just blame parents for like everything but thats a little extreme, IMO. The kids themselves are also contributing plenty to their own demise or whatever.

My own mother always throws this bad parenting thing around and my brother & I have to remind her that she stayed HOME with us and didnt work. She didnt have to. Public schools were way different and had more leeway to "correct" bad kids. Kids werent coddled so much by the system itself. Acting like a jerk got you suspended or expelled, not told "awe, its not little Johnnys fault hes an !@#-Hole". This kind of systemic "placating" and "making excuses for bad kids" isnt the parents fault. You know what I mean here.

I could go on and on and dont want to get too of track. But, it aint all the parents. Not even close.

I work at a junior high school...and I've worked with teenagers for over a decade now...and yes, a lot of today's kids are entitled jerks. Discipline is almost non-existent -- and today's kids are out of control as a result. When I started teaching, kids were expelled for disrespect. Today, disrespectful kids are given MULTIPLE warnings. We talk and talk and talk and talk and talk...and there are no real consequences. Kids have learned that no matter what they do...they will only have to endure another talk. Talking isn't without its merits, but many of them need a few spankings.

We are failing our kids in this country -- BIG TIME. Today's kids are given way, WAY too many chances and way, WAY too much leeway. Parents and teachers are afraid to apply any REAL discipline because these kids have "suffered" so much during the pandemic. (Here is where my eyes start rolling.) Almost EVERY kid claims to be suffering from anxiety or depression. Ten years ago, kids seemed to be tougher and more resilient. Today's kids are a new breed.... I apologize for venting.

Just the second movie I ever walked out of in my life.

I'd love to see how the people who made this film look like

I bet their break room probably has some kind of soy dispensing machine. There's probably warning signs everywhere not to make sudden movements or loud sounds. The cafeteria is probably vegan with bean bags for chairs.

So, Strange Worlds. The movie that's so woke it has a disabled dog. So now even the animals are in on it. The 'main' character, "Searcher" Clade, appears to be about 5'6", thin enough to be blown over by a stiff breeze, with a hipster beard. He's married to a sassy obese black woman. The father of Searcher is a hilariously bad toxic male caricature.

Another character in the film is obviously queer, but I don't know his name. Actually 'they' was probably non-binary. The president of the world is likely lesbian, based on her gruff voice and masculine demeanor. But she could be non-binary as well. The dog might be gay. Might.

Searcher's son is Mulatto. Yet he has dreadlocks because, 1% rule. The son is queer. He's crushing on another boy who is probably gay too. You could tell by his edgy haircut.

And when all this is going on I could hear babies and crying and 4 year olds talking. Cringe.

Geez, how much of a snowflake can you BE?

None of these things are morally wrong in and of themselves.

On the contrary, they are very morally wrong.

What happens if 25% of the planet decides to become gay? 50%? Say goodbye to the human species. What? That wont happen so its not something to worry about? If being gay was completely normal and healthy, then something so harmless shouldnt end the species if everyone decided to be that way. Men and women are designed to reproduce and keep the species alive - if you have no interest in that, because you want to stay single or be gay, fine. But don't try and propagate deeply corrupt world views on everyone else, especially fragile young minds.

1. Homosexuality is not a choice. It's biologically determined.

2. There are already a whopping 8 billion people on this planet. We aren't going extinct any time soon.

3. Homosexuality is also found in other species, and they're doing just fine.
