Re-release notes:

Clannad: Most likely reuses the SteelBook discs from April 2020. Those discs differed from the December 2017 release discs which were significantly different from the original release discs from 2011 and 2012. Buy it if you don't care for stacked SteelBooks or SteelBooks in general, or you don't own the 2017 release. If you still own the original Blu-rays for Clannad, you probably will want to upgrade already, massive improvements with the later releases.
Demon King Daimao: Original release is from June 2011, just upgrade it, no questions asked (Per usual: Old release a DLW authoring job with overly large subtitles).
Girls Beyond the Wasteland: Original release is from April 2017, probably won't be too much of a difference.

They weren't going to lose that, it's an evergreen. It's also the main reason that the folks in Houston are still in this business. After ADV Films was left financially crippled due to the Sojitz deal falling apart and having overpaid on everything, Sentai Filmworks was created as an escape route. One of their first titles was Clannad (which ADV Films would distribute, then Section23 Films distributed After Story). Had Clannad not sold well, very doubtful Sentai would have gotten where they are today.

The disc art may be different, but it will most likely be the same discs. This was the case with Elfen Lied, I have all 3 Blu-ray releases. The 2019 SteelBook had new discs, and then despite the disc art being different, the discs in the 2021 release were the same as the SteelBook.

I watched it on Crunchyroll as it aired during Winter 2010, my second season of watching stuff as they aired (first was Fall 2009). I can now feel super old, sigh.

Oh my gawd, it finally took them long enough to repackage that to a DVD case. Now retailers can finally fit more copies on a shelf.

Guess they'll finally do this for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z which they should have done like over 10 years ago.

Also, guess they're finally done with the vertical bar stuff? Wasn't much of a fan of that design style they had for the entire Dragon Ball series, especially on the DBZ Blu-ray SteelBooks even though I wouldn't buy them (they should have had a clear slipcover with the logo horizontally on it).

2017 release went OOP because of the SteelBook which had new discs, and the SteelBook is limited, so a regular edition with those discs will be needed because unlike The Big O, they have no intention of having the original release come back in-print after the SteelBook sells out.

Horimiya Finally!

Again, not so thrilled with the artwork design for the LE - is that a cutout window or just an image blob on the front of the box? Who the heck has been doing the LE artwork layout recently for Crunchyroll, anyway? The last 3 or 4 LE box sets I have been interested in have fairly ugly artwork on them, seemed to start with Burn the Witches when I first noticed it. I skipped the LE for that one because the Standard Edition had nicer artwork. Jobless Reincarnation LE is pretty ugly too, I may just go with the Anime Limited CE for that one. Bah!

I've got only the sub-only DVDs (my first Sentai releases) and the SteelBook. I'll probably end up going for the triple-dip on this.

Been over a decade since I last saw the show though, I watched said sub-only DVDs on a small CRT TV with a built-in DVD player. Soon after I would finally get an HDTV.

Probably a Toei call too since Manga UK used it as well.

If Dragon Ball gets a complete set, I would expect this to be used now.

No, I just never got it. I should've specified on release. Most anime isn't worth buying on release, and even a series like Sonny Boy is no different. Waiting until a good deal (unlike withHorimiya which has a nice LE which might go OOP).

That's because it has been longer: LAWD started airing in April 2022, and Mieruko-chan started airing October 2021. Not sure whether CR will actually release it or not; I'm not convinced that they'll release everything (even everything they dub), and the fact that it's been this long makes me wonder if it's being passed over. Another show in the same boat is Re:Zero season 2, from 2020.

Edit: Actually, apparently Horimiya aired January 2021, and How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Omega aired April 2021, so it might not be outside a possible release window. At that pace, we'd be seeing it Fall of 2023.

Will be picking up GT and that's probably it. I hope they do the same for Dragon Ball, maybe in parts if they have to. Always hated the old digipak design and would much prefer standard shelf friendly keepcase releases.

I like digipaks, but one thing that always bugged me with the Dragon Ball ones and some other old FUNimation digipaks (*Cough*Slayers S1-S3 set*Cough*) is they used slipcovers instead of slipboxes. In addition to allowing dust to get inside the digipaks, it also limits the display options. To make the image on the spines, you have to remove the slipcovers (where do you put them if you don't toss them?) and have the digipaks even more naked than they already were. Slipboxes would allow one to more easily choose as there's two different spine options, you wouldn't have naked digipaks that could topple over, and it wouldn't allow dust to get in.

Also, from a business standpoint it made so little sense to me. You would think they'd want to repackage the series into DVD cases so stores could fit way more copies on a shelf at a time. Did they want to be like Geneon or something? Made so little sense all these years.

I wonder just how many of those Slayers and Yugioh sets were damaged due to shipping. I tried once with the Yugioh set and ended up just buying the older releases.
