Similar to my Pokemon thread, I thought it would make more sense to have one place to discuss all of the various releases for Yu-Gi-Oh! on DVD and Blu-ray. I may edit this to include info on each individual series.
Two things have come to mind recently: 1: Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Season 2 has become increasingly hard to find and appears to be out of print. It has been delisted and marked OOS through just about every retailer for nearly a year now. eBay sales have been on the rise. Why would Cinedigm let this season go out of print and not the others? RightStuf has removed it from the website entirely, so there must not be any more coming in stock. 2: What is going on with VRAINS dub in the U.S.? It received a sneak peak in theaters not too long ago but it never began airing on a television network. Nicktoons seems to be done with the franchise and Cartoon Network does their own thing. Why wouldn't Konami shop the series to Disney XD to air alongside Pokemon, Yokai Watch and Beyblade? A franchise like Yu-Gi-Oh! being treated so poorly in the U.S. is a real shame. Konami is hardly marketing VRAINS in the TCG due to literally zero advertising for the series. Card mechanics are still being introduced of course, but no one in the states recognizes the protagonist, so they put out packaging with Yugi and Kaiba for the one hundredth time. The least Cinedigm could do is try and get VRAINS out on DVD asap, but here we are... it is baffling. Canada has seen the first 46 episodes and we have seen none! |

Seeing GX Season 2 go out of print has caused me to get a bit nervous on waiting to collect the seasons any longer. I may start picking up each of the seasons one at a time starting sooner than later. Like with Pokemon, I may never get around to watching all of the episodes but I do want to have a complete library of what has been released here.

The only YGO series I actually care about are the original (which I still need to buy all of but I so want at least an SDBD release at this point) and 5D’s, which I have both Season 1 & 2 DVD sets of.
5D’s was done SO dirty in the US, and it took me years to realize it until I really looked into it after what little we did get here stopped airing. Quite a few episodes are missing from the actual season 2 and instead we got a few random episodes of season 3. Not to mention we didn’t get a majority of season 3, and none of seasons 4 and 5. ![]() |

I wish Cinedigm would take the Discotek approach with the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. How cool would it be to have SDBD sets where the first seasons are dubbed and the undubbed seasons are included with Japanese audio and subtitles? The undubbed episodes have no edits made to them so it should be relatively easy to do. GX was also cut short in the U.S., same thing that was done to 5D's. The entire final season was left undubbed so that 4Kids could cross promote the anime and TCG products as 5D's began. The irony is that Konami is no longer able to use the anime as a means of promoting the TCG... karma for cutting GX and 5D's short? lol. ![]() |

I would love a uncut SDBD of duel monsters, liked the show so much. I watched a little GX but never got into it as much. Didnt watch any of the series after that. I never played the game much besides on DS but I did collect a bunch of the original cards I liked from the anime.
Having read the manga in Jump and seeing some of the episodes of season zero online it's just weird if you ask me, even though how sadistic Yama Yugi is can be funny in a weird way sometimes. |

I recently found this Reddit post from a few years ago and thought it was interesting:
https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comm...h_gx_season_4/ A fandub group had been contacted by 4K Media's digital producer, Chris Beaumont. Long story short, 4K does have the rights to all of the Yu-Gi-Oh! episodes that were left undubbed. There's no reason they couldn't be released subbed on DVD one day. This would include all of GX season 4 and whatever was left from 5D's too. Guess this may explain some of the legal subbed streaming options but I'm not well versed in that. |

I'll never understand why Konami is still trying to appeal to children with Yu-Gi-Oh. That ship has sailed. They only use Yugi, Kaiba and other DM characters on the booster packaging now. All of the recent holiday tin and special releases are from DM to 5D's. Kids have no idea who these characters are. Grown adults are the main audience for Yu-Gi-Oh! in 2019 and that's a fact lol. Time to give us the uncut episodes because why not?

It appears ARC-V Season 3 will not receive a Blu-ray release after the first two seasons got one. Years ago 5D's and Zexal were also announced for Blu-ray releases but that never ended up happening. Here's a write-up from ravegirl.wordpress.com about ARC-V Season 3 on Blu-ray:
"Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V Season 1 was the first time any Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series received a high-definition Blu-ray release. Its BD and DVD debuted alongside each other in September 2016. What has happened since then? Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V Season 2 was originally slated to see both a BD and DVD release on May 8, 2018. But only the DVD ended up being released on that date. According to retailers I spoke to, the BD release was postponed to June 5, and then again to June 26. Worse yet, the release changed from a typical pressed BD to a print-on-demand BD-R product that cost $89.99, which not all retailers could even order from their wholesaler. And although June 26 was the official street date, few retailers acquired the product in advance, which meant that unless you pre-ordered the set, you were in for a long wait as the discs were made. And now, Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V Season 3 has no BD release at all. While no one has issued a statement about this loss, it’s not hard to hypothesize what happened. Ultimately, this only reinforces the imperativeness of pre-ordering a video product that you really want, especially if it is a niche title like this Yu-Gi-Oh! spin-off." https://ravegrl.wordpress.com/2019/0...available-now/ |

Ugh this isn't going to bode well for the classic DM series to ever get a Blu-Ray release (which I'd take even as a SDBD).

DM is the exception. Konami/Cinedigm must know that the original is where all of the sales would be. They'd probably only release that 16:9 cropped version that aired in Japan a few years ago.

I got my Blu-ray copy of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie yesterday and watched about 30 minutes of it, it looks great in HD. The only time I've ever seen this movie was when it released in theaters. I was 8 years old, so I've barely got any memory of it. I'll finish it up tomorrow on my day off but the Blu-ray quality is fantastic so far.

Whoa, I didn't realize nust how hard it is to find GX Season 2 anymore. Nowhere to be found on Amazon or eBay as of the writing of this post. Makes me relieved that I picked each YGO Season as it was released. I also noticed that it's not easy finding the standard Blu-ray of Bonds Beyond Time, I can only find the Steelbook version. Luckily, I managed to find this on eBay for a reasonable price ($10) in amazing condition.
